2022-23 if we resign Ehky and Forsberg at good deals

I don't think you're far off, but the Ekholm contract will likely be more $$, and possibly term. Maybe something like $5.75m x 5. My ideal contracts would be Forsberg -- $7.5m x 7 and Ekholm - $5m x 4 -- but I don't think those are likely... I could see Forsberg going as high at $8.5m and Ekholm $6.25m -- that would be worst case scenario. Those Johansen/Duchene contracts really hurts us on the Forsberg deal.

I really don't think Forsberg should make more than 8M. Yes, i know comparatively he's better than Joey and Duchene but Forsberg is a 60-70 point forward.

Ekholm probably deserves the same contract we gave Ellis.

Either way there's a good amount of wiggle room there for either contract to go higher. I'm just weary of committing to either player. Forsberg has missed ~19% of the last 4 seasons due to injury and Ekholm is 30+.

Ekholm won’t be worth $6M at age 33 let alone at age 35. We need to keep it low term and/or low AAV otherwise I’d be down trading him at the deadline to a contender that actually needs him for the next 2 years while he’s still somewhat in his prime.

I like most of your other stuff, but Glass at 3.75…

Lol the Glass contract was a total shot in the dark. This post is meant to be a positive spin on the development of the team this year. Hence Glass and Tomasino being out on the 2nd line and ZLH making the team after D+1. If Glass doesn’t improve this year they obviously won’t be giving him that money, but if he’s a guy they trust at 2C (on a non-contender) then I could see him getting at least $3.5M.

But you are right, he very likely won’t improve enough to earn that much money.
