If that's all the Jets are getting back, they're better off just using Copp as an own rental. Copp is more important to the Jets this season than Domi ever could be.

Adding a C on a long term contract would make sense for them though. They do need some players to skate for them.
I was thinking that Domi would get a chance to play with the most talented players he's ever played with in a contract year. Jets could just walk away from him at the end or look to re-sign if he played well enough

I think you're short changing Domi a little here. I mean he's two years removed from a 72 point season. Getting him on a show me deal is pretty valuable, but obviously there are concerns with him. A little bit of a nostalgic move for sure, but picture all those #28 Jets 1.0 jerseys in the crowd
