Description
probably add a depth D at the deadline if we’re good but valimaki struggles (like the savard trade except a LD). Could maybe use a solid 3rd liner as well, ideally armia would be the 4RW and pelletier’s a bit of a wildcard but I think 3LW

If Tank had 1 year left sure, as of now we cant afford to repay our stars unless Looch retires after his last bonus or something, I feel like this still relies on Monahan waiving to Buffalo too much and may not be enough for Jack even if a bunch of teams have dropped out now

34 gp the last two seasons and making $7.5m. Also entering his 30s soon which likely means the injuries arent really going to get better. I think its going to be tough for the Blues to get much value for him, especially now that it is public that he asked for a trade.

If you’re not willing to eat money you’re gonna be hard pressed to find a team willing to take on the full 7.5mil, especially considering he’s still owed 15mil actual cash, none of which is signing bonus. He’s also been hurt for the last 2 seasons. Not many offers are gonna top a solid young player (who also has double Tarasenko’s points per game in the playoffs the last two years) and a pick. Since we aren’t sending salary back this feels like a lot already.

If Monahan doesn’t waive to Buffalo it shouldn’t be too difficult to involve a 3rd team and just flip all the assets we get for Monahan to Buffalo immediately. It shouldn’t take too much to dump Lucic next year (he only has 1mil in actual salary post-signing bonus, I’d imagine it would be cheaper than the Staal deal to dump at that point, maybe a 3rd because of the cap hit, maybe less because basement teams don’t care about the cap hit and 1mil is barely league min, which Lucic deserves, his actual value is probably around 1.5 at this point).

I get that, I just dont think Tank is a good fit, he is injury prone and can't really play defense. We also have zero Russian players here and he has a full NTC, don't see it happening
