1: that's an unbelievably bad return for Monahan

2: if Buffalo is trading Eichel and Reinhart, they're obviously rebuilding. Trading assets including a great LW prospect for Gaudreau makes no sense at all. They won't come close to contending while Gaudreau is on his current deal, and even if they re-sign him, he'll be on the wrong side of 30 when they're good again (if they ever are).
