Just a different idea with everything going on

Here we leave kadri open to the x draft.
My train of thought is based off a two main things.
If kadri get a multi game suspension newhook will make the jump to 2C. If he looks like he can handle himself and does good there isn't much point to not having him there next season so kadri's spot there will be filled.
secondly unless kadri comes back from said suspension and produces at a higher rate his value is going to be pretty much at an all time low after a brutal season followed by another suspension then a quiet rest of playoffs.
So with that being the line of thought here i think we'd probily have to package kadri with something more to get another top 6 winger. Maybe it's worth keeping donny after how much he is scoring this season and if newhook can take the next step to be 2C.

I do think if the avs do this type of move, they still trade graves and use the savings of Kadri and Graves to re-sign Saad. Timmins has shown he brings what graves does but at a fraction of the price.

Cant let kadri go without a top 6 replacement.

Essentially newhook would be the new top 6 forward. We will see how he does over the next couple games with kadri most likely suspended. I'd love a package deal of kadri and graves for something but that means we probily lose donny to the draft since we'd have to protect whatever we traded for so we're kind of in a bind of losing one of our top 6 guys either way

If I'm SEA, I'm still taking Graves. I think COL would have to add a sweetener to ensure Graves stays.

But honestly, if I'm COL, I'm probably not gonna miss Graves too much either way. Or Kadri

Also take the players off the taxi squad as there's a very likely 0% chance it'll be back next year. This has some cap implications

I'm pretty sure we are losing saad either way. In this scenario we shed 4.5 without taking anything in and the only reason we're under cap is because timmins is taxi squad. I think if anything i'm light on the contracts so we're not going to have much room to wiggle with those.
Sure we can move graves pretty easily and replace him with timmins but that saves us 1.5 mil. So we'd also need to shed compher's salary which isn't a big deal, but we'd have to replace that depth as well. so unless Saad is planning on taking a very team friendly deal south of 4mil i don't know if he's going to be able to be brought back.
