Description
Trades take place at the conclusion of the 2017 season, but before the expansion draft.

Buffalo trades a talented, young forward for a talented, young LHD to pair with Risto for the foreseeable future. They also rid themselves of Kane in exchange for all-around good-guy, but perpetually snakebit Pominville. Buffalo gets a 1st round pick for the difference in (perceived) value between Reinhart and Brodin and for the extra year in Pominville's contract.

Minnesota sends a 3rd Rd pick in '18 to Vegas to ensure the selection of Kane in the expansion draft. In doing so, Minnesota is able to secure the remaining D core and frees up enough cap space to sign all RFAs.

FYI the NHL has come out and stated NO BACKROOM DEALS in the expansion draft so though I could see Kane being exposed and a trade happening an asset would have to come MIN way that will keep NHL front office off their butts.

Going to need to give up a lot more for Reinhart. Sabres are still extremely high on him and see him as a cornerstone piece.

I'm gonna need a source on that. Everything I have have read either indicates otherwise or makes no mention whatsoever.

Edit: I think I misread. Do you mean it would have to be a 3rd to Vegas and a 7th to MN in order to take Kane instead of just gifting a pick?

Clearly you haven't seen Brodin play this year...he's been tremendous! It would not be too much of a stretch to suggest that Brodin for Reinhart straight-up would be a fair deal.

I don't think Vegas touches Kane with 10 foot pole. The rumors with the Jets locker room, and Buffalo legal issues, would be hard a a team with 0 identity and no locker room chemistry.

Not a fan of the trade. Brodin (small)+ for Reinhart I could live with. I'm still a Pommer fan, yes he's overpayed, but he does a lot of the little things right. And he's the only RW that has shown any type of ability to play with Parise this year.
