Description
Just musing about what the team could look like next year.

We have to trade at least one goaltender, if Tarasov is the real deal. Would rather trade Korpi, I think Merzlikins has the star personality that the Jackets just haven't had in...ever. Would Jones and some picks be enough return? (It would be cool to see both Jones on the same team, and I doubt CBJ is trading Seth).

Foligno re-signs during the summer for cheap, because of course he does. Sign Laine to a 1-year bridge/prove-it deal. Sign a potential 2nd-line C in Krejci.

Overall, it's a young team with few potential stars and a lot of stop-gap solutions. It may be a couple years before we compete again.

Oh, and fire Torts. There has to be a new voice with some better ideas, the team now looks clueless and it's easy to blame coaching.

    I don't think we trade Korpisalo until we've seen more of Tarasov, but otherwise I suppose this is doable. Well, apart from the "Caleb on the first pairing" bit, but I suppose that's excusable as special circumstances. And I'd kind of like to try to keep Lehtonen.

    Yeah, I'm assuming Tarasov will get regular AHL time the rest of this season, and probably a call-up (maybe some action) if either Korpi or Merzly gets hurt. Trading one or the other might even be a deadline deal next season.

    Caleb obviously wouldn't be on the first pairing, but I had to stick him with Seth just for fun. I don't know what kind of return EDM would want for Jones, but assuming Klefbom comes back next season, and with Nurse already on the left too, maybe they look to move a defenseman?
