They're going to need to take on a bad contract to move Jake. The Calgary deal really depends on if Calgary is high on Patrick

You're really going to trade three years of Jake Voracek (who has 32 points in 36 games), plus Nolan Patrick, plus a first and a second, for one year of Johnny Gaudreau (who has 27 points in 40 games) and two years of Milan "The Anchor" Lucic?!?!?

If you squint hard enough it kind of makes sense.

-Flyers need to get tougher, bottom line. Lucic will at least bring that

-Flyers likely could and would extend Gaudreau.

-Flyers move the current worst contract on the team in the trade

-Albeit that's a lot in futures, they don't give up any abs6becessary future pieces.

I'd probably take out the 2nd and Zamula to call it fair, but I think it could work

I figure there's no way you win a deal while moving Voracek but this is probably one of the best possible returns. I felt like if I didn't include Zamula and had it just be Voracek and Patrick a first and second some would feel like it wasn't a good deal since Voracek is making a lot more money Patrick's value isn't crazy high so he's there purely based off of potential. Let's say Patrick doesn't improve much that deal looks terrible Calgary so there's a slim chance they'd take it even if they're losing a bad contract of their own

Honestly it makes sense. It is a lot, but Voracek at 30+ years of age is a tough contract to get rid of. Johnny would be a hometown hero that fans would quickly buy into, and may regain some of his shooting touch joining the Flyers. Voracek has quietly been the flyers best player of late, but he will always be this player. Solid enough, disappears at times, flashes brilliance other times, frustrating turnovers, and then makes up for it by racking up points in bunches. The core needs to be shaken up at this point. Voracek is the one to go if they can. He's got the worst attitude at times. Honestly I don't think they can get rid of his contract for anything less.

After voracek, I think JVR is a logical choice to try and get rid of. I love TK as a fan, he's pure entertainment, but I think Voracek and JVR aren't enough. Need to disrupt some of the young core we are counting on as well. Disrupt the culture of the vets and up-comers. I'd dangle TK and see what we could get in return. Add a defenseman and some beef.

What is clear we need to build the roster around supporting Coots, Farabee, Provy, and Hart (and G to an extent). And I wouldn't stop there. I would shake up the core AND dump AV. Gallant is out there. I'm not saying Gallant is much better than AV, but if the rumors are true, then Hart and some others don't like AV's style of calling out players and changing things up every night. Just a fresh restart for everyone. Even though Hart's confidence has wavered. There might not be someone more untouchable than Hart in the eyes of Philly. They've been waiting for a goalie for years, and Hart has shown under better circumstances he can be what the flyers have been looking for.

I agree with a lot of what you said. They only things that I'm iffy on are moving TK and firing AV. I think TK has started to look like himself recently and he's one of the hard working high skill players that is needed and he's also probably the fastest skater on the team losing his speed would worry me cause there are a lot of good skaters on the team but no one has his speed to pull away from other teams defenders. I would be open to moving him if they miss on Hamilton cause he's the only top pair dman that's going to be a ufa and TK is the type of player that could easily be the start of a deal for a top pair Dman. With AV I feel like they should give him another season if they feel like he still has the room. I've seen the rumor that players don't like they way he's been calling out players in the media but at the same time I've heard he says it to the players first before giving it to the media. I guess that if at the end of the season Fletcher has meeting with players and they seem to be unresponsive to AV than it is time to move on but I'm not sure he's lost the room just yet I could be wrong though.
