Description

Signing the 7 best UFAs: Hall, Palmieri, Iafallo, Hoffman, Saad, Hamilton and Andersen.

It is next to impossible, but Seattle could draft most of them (Hall, Palmieri, Hoffman, Iafallo) and start negociating early, throwing all their capspace at them. The other ones will will be fare game on July 1st, but once again Seattle won't have much competition. It's the only way to get top 6 offensive power, a No 1 defenceman and A1 goalie IMO.

There's no way Sakic will leave Toews exposed. Either we'll go the 4+4 route or we'll simply trade or buy Erik Johnson out. I think EJ will waive his NMC though.

I'm still convinced that team captain Landeskog and general manager Sakic will work out an extension to be announced the first day of free agency, thereby permitting Colorado to protect MacKinnon, Rantanen, Kadri and Burakovsky. They would lose Compher, Jost or Graves, but that's an acceptable price to keep the core of a Stanley Cup contender together.
