So we'll have ~$20.2 million to sign Quinn, Thatcher and Petey...as well we need to replace Pearson's scoring and some others with that same $20.2. The facts are that the Canucks aren't ready to go all in until the 22-23 season when Beagle and Roussel expire, as well as the ghost of Luongo's contract is gone. We'll have two more years of maturity for the core and they'll be ready to take that run.

The VGK and AZ trades are just not even remotely close. Why would AZ take back a $6M cap dump and NOT get an additional 1st rd pick at a minimum. And then the grand irony and hypocritical trade with VGK, in trade one you drop in a cap dump into it without paying but then you have VGK pay a HUGE price to move Fleury. The only objective thing in this is that you’ll make all trades favor VAN.

A couple of bridge deals and it could work. Pearson's scoring is replaced by Hoglander and Pod, maybe even Lind to some degree.
