Three team deal between CBJ, Toronto and Arizona. Cleaned up, it looks like:
- ARI receives: Frederik Andersen, Alexander Wennberg, TOR 2021 1st-rounder
- TOR receives: Darcy Kuemper ($2M retained by ARI), David Savard, CBJ 2020 1st-rounder (21OA), ARI 2021 2nd-rounder (likely less than 25 picks difference)
- CBJ receives: Derek Stepan, Mikhail Abramov, TOR 2020 1st-rounder (15OA)
ARI: Get younger at C, add a cheaper option at G cash-wise, and get back into the 2021 first round
TOR: Add a tough, responsible RD, shed Andersen's cap hit for a run at Pietrangelo
CBJ: Add Stepan for a more likely option at 2C, get a prospect to help restock pipeline, move up six picks in October
Trade originally conceived here: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/366645
As a CBJ fan, I'd also be okay with shipping out Dubinsky's (fully-insured) deal so Toronto could put him on LTIR if they wanted to go that route, or finding a team that needs to get to the cap floor, since he won't cost any real money. Alternatively, the team could move Jenner or Murray and create even more cap room.
Coyotes reject big time , coyotes would lose 4M in actual dollars , Coyotes wont be taking back almost any cap in Kuemper deal , and your going to need to give up more for Kuemper

Dealing Kuemper with $2M retained would save them $1.5M this year and dealing Stepan would save them $2M, while Wennberg+Andersen comes to a total of just under $6M, so it's actually $2.5M, not $4M. I chose Arizona both because Andersen costs virtually nothing in real money, and Wennberg is a change-of-scenery candidate who fits the "we want guys under 25" ethos that Armstrong has talked about today. Not saying you're dead wrong or anything, but you can see why I thought it might have some appeal for the Yotes. But I definitely appreciate the feedback.

alright i see what you were going for a bit better now that you said so , the offer isnt bad considering that ive seen leaf fans put up Andersen for Kuemper one for one

Oh, I've seen Leaf fans put up Andreas Johnsson and expect Seth Jones in return, I feel your pain. I'd love to pry Dvorak loose somehow, but I know THAT isn't happening for anything short of guys we'd be unwilling to move.

Yeah saw that same Seth Jones trade couldnt stop laughing for about 5 minutes , with Dvo i'm pretty sure he's listed as a untouchable so yeah would be a pretty tough to pry him out without giving something huge
