Franchise Altering for OTT 2020

Nightmare scenario:
1) Laf
2) Byfield
3) Rossi
4) Stutzle
5) Sanderson

OTT should take Stutzle and Drysdale imo.

Look at this defense:

Chabot-Drysdale
Brannstrom-Thomson
Lajoie-Bernard-Docker
Wolanin

5 years from now they could b the best d-corps in the nhl

im afraid Stutzle will end up as a winger and we will still be searching for a 1C, my brain says to take Stutzle and Rossi or Byfield and Drysdale

My god if we take anyone other than Stutzle/Byfield at 3 and/or Sanderson instead of Drysdale or Raymond at 5 (hell I’d even accept drafting Askarov high) Dorion should be fired on the spot. Like, before the Islanders pick. Luckily he’s pretty good at drafting at least.

I’m super excited for this year, it will be important for development. Lots of rookies should make the team and get the chance to play a big role (I think Formenton makes the team too). As for the cap floor, you’re technically above it (I believe it’s 60.2?) but Gaborik’s contract goes on LTIR so it doesn’t count against the cap (and I’m not sure if we can just bring it off) which makes it close. I think those are overpays for Brown and Duclair though, I would try to get an extra year for that price. Hainsey is definitely overpaid, if he gets re-signed it won’t be for 3.5mil this time. I really hope Ottawa trades for a couple of cap dumps, it’s their new best way to acquire assets, they don’t have any deadline fodder type players.
