Dzingel thrived in a situation where he was used more, and he’s fallen out of favor in Carolina. It’s a buy low, low risk deal. I hate to make the comparison, but Gaudette reminds me a lot of what Buffalo saw in Cody Hodgson. He may not be ready to be #2, but he’s a safer bet than throwing Cozens there right away. I think Vancouver values him more, but will take less because Buffalo will take on Beagle’s contract. Beagle holds value for Buffalo addressing dire need in penalty killing and face offs. Unless Montour can get Alex Tuch in return this trade makes a ton of sense for Buffalo.
I don’t think Gaudette is a 2C
His ceiling imo is a good 2way 3C
And that’s fine... we just need to get a top6 guy back if we’re trading Montour
Not only could we get Tuch...
i don’t even think it will cost Montour!!
*this is all assuming they want to keep Lehner,
and thus need the Cap space
Is Dzingel a healthy scratch?
Wow, didn’t see that coming. I’d say it’s worth it to trade a low round pick for him. Worst case, he doesn’t work out & he leaves as a free agent after the season
Good idea.
