Description
CBJ will need to open space up in the organization to move some players that just can't make their way into the lineup. It is a nice problem to have, lower salaried, younger, and talented players that are being eclipsed on the depth chart.
Stenlund or Anderson...Stenlund is big and has great hands, but does not play as heavy a game as Anderson. Anderson plays with an edge, is lightning fast, but more power style forward and doesn't have great hands/feel for the puck. I say...sell Anderson and keep Stenlund.
Harrington or Kukan, Murray and Carlsson will be expendable with both Peeke and Berni on the very near horizon. Sell on Harrington Murray and Carlsson, even if for a mid-level picks.
MacInnis, Robinson, and Matteau all looked very good while shoring up the bottom 6 this past year. This makes Lilja expendable, and he should also be moved for a draft pick.
I like Wennberg, but the signing of Grigorenko and emergence of Foudy will make Wennberg obsolete. He needs to go for the best offer. Unfortunately, his salary is not going to be attractive, and Jackets should not pay someone to take him unless they can get enough picks for the deals above. Trade Wennberg and CBO Dubinsky. If no return for Wennberg, maybe keep him until 2021 and pay Seattle a 1st to take him off our hands (just like Wild Bill Karlsson) and then Wennberg will turn into a 30 goal scorer overnight.
Buyout or LTIR Dubinsky.

Détails additionnels:
2nd for Anderson
6th for Harrington
BUF
  1. Anderson, Josh
  2. Harrington, Scott
Détails additionnels:
Anderson is big power forward that will excel on either 1st or 2nd line RW. Harrington is solid D man who has been eclipsed on the depth chart by the excellent drafting the last few years. He could replace a CBO or traded player for much lower cost.

  1. Carlsson, Gabriel
  2. Lilja, Jakob
  3. Murray, Ryan
  4. Choix de 6e ronde en 2020 (CBJ)
Détails additionnels:
Lilja has scoring potential, not elite, but maybe 20G/yr.
Carlsson is talented but has fallen on the depth chart due to excellent scouting/drafting in the last few years. Murray is top 4 quality D man when healthy, and averages about 50 games / yr over his career. NJ has defensive needs due to their huge gap in GF/GA last year. Murray would definitely help shore up this differential.

Murray is very injury prone and Carlson really doesn't have much potential left but I think you can at least get a second and 4th. Maybe a second and third

Not bad at all, though I think Grigroanko will get used more as a wing vs a center. Jenner is a better center then Wennberg. I’d guess he’s gone next year. His buyout it only 500k for 3 years and 900k for 3 years. That’s much cheaper then the 4.9 mil to keep him.

IMO you're way overvaluing Lilja here. He has almost no offensive upside and isnt anything special defensively compared to our other bottom 6 guys.

I like Stenlund, but I think his decision making/passing deficits require more AHL time. I think Robinson is more ready now than Stenlund

I realize his line is 2G 3A 5P and +5 in 37 games. Most nights he skated in the bottom 6, but he will be in the 15-20 goal range.
He has good timing, separation, and knows where he needs to be on the ice. Both of his goals he was in position in the slot when the pass/rebound came to him.
More importantly, he was +5 so he took care of business defensively, has a good shot, and his vision & rink awareness are strong.
The Jackets are very high on him and probably won't trade him, but he will be good for 15-20 goals in future, and probably good for as many assists if not more...

Hes also going to be 27 when next year starts. He isnt some late blooming offensive prospect, Jarmo brought him over for the purpose of playing as a bottom 6 guy. I'm not trying to be a dick but out of all our forward core last season he easily had the lowest offensive output besides maybe Nash. Lilja is not going to go from a 13 pt AHL tweeter to a 20 Goal 40 point forward over night. Some players are only meant to be defensive, and that's okay. Stenlund and Robinson could be 20G 40P guys but I'm not too sure about Lilja.

That was a nice assist in the video but every single NHL forward should be able to do something like that every once in a while. He had like 3 impressive nights offensively, and hes already 26. It would be a miracle if he broke out
