Description
Some ideas I have been having.

First we trade for Savard who could be a nice pairing for rielly and can come fairly cheap.Once he arrives Dubas can potentially get him to sign an early extension on a 4 year 4.5m or a 5 year 5m mill contract like what happened with faulk and the blues.

Second we trade johnsson and Dermott for Nicholas Paul who can replace kerfoot as the 3c but will sign way cheaper.

Finally for UFAs I went for veteran presence so thorton comes in to be with spezza and clifford on the 4th line. Also signed Jan rutta. He has potential and can sign for cheap so he can be paired with sandin on the 3rd pairing.

Also went to the KHL and signed ivan bocharov. With a current GAA of 1.98 and a sv of 0.935 it will be interesting to see how he does in the NHL. Dubas would probs place him with the marlies just to make sure things go well before testing him out in some NHL games. Who knows if he does well wont have to resign Anderson.

Anyways let me know what u think

lul they would pass on a guy who has had 2 40point seasons and his first year as a center has 28 points for a guy whose has 1 year left and is slowing down i dont think so. Sure savard is good but he only has a year left making his value less a one for one trade with kerfoot and him is fair. As for bracco fresh start on a new team can sign him to league min or flip him in another trade

I would pass yes. Kerfoot is playing against other teams 3rd and 4th lines. Not a big whoop. Savard is playing first line minutes (since Jones injury) and plugs 20 minutes a night every year. He is a minute muncher. Very very important to have on the roster. Every team needs a guy like that. Savard is a stud. Kerfoot is buck a shuck oyster and Bracco is worth nothing. IMO

i have seen this trade posted before and columbus fans have said its fine. Some people even attempted to overpay for the Savard and were told by columbus fans it was an overpayment. If columbus rejects leafs dont care they can look elsewhere as many teams would love to have kerfoot especially on that contract.
Copenhagen a aimé ceci.

Sorry... the appeal for Kerfoot has died in Columbus. We need a second line center... not another 3rd line guy. We have Wennberg and Jenner for 3rd lines already. Also Bracco isn’t anything of value to Columbus. He’s yet another depth RW... he’d be stuck in the AHL again.

Maybe if the trade were to also have Holl to kinda replace Savard maybe Columbus does it, but as it stands the value might be fine, there’s just really no interest in the trade from a Columbus stand point. The only difference between Kerfoot and Wennberg is their contracts... oh and the fact that Wennberg has a 59 point season under his belt.. Kerfoots max was 40 but he’s also younger.

This trade could happen at the deadline if Peeke is able to take over the top 4 role from Savard though, so it’s not a no, it’s more of a not yet.
