Obviously not all of these need to be made. I probably wouldnt trade all of Names/Brown/Pageau/Tierney but I would like to see 2-3 go.

Ottawas main need right now is top end game impacting talent.

I think I have all the teams cap compliant and I think these are ways to acquire 1st round picks (within reason). If you disagree, please provide a fair counter offer.

EDM: Gets a PK playing speedy winger who has a history of playing well with McDavid who is 25yo and RFA. 1st would be lottery protected. Would we need to take cap the other way?

NYI: Most NYI ACGMs have been okay with this evaluation

WPG: WPG gets a 25yo RFA C who wont leave them like the last few TDL acquisitions. They also get a veteran D for this playoff push who they can drop at seasons end

TOR: Ennis knows the team and the system. He plays PK and gets defensive starts. We use the 4th to upgrade what would be a 3rd to a 2nd

BOS: Basically 2 part trade. Taking a 1st to clear backes and a 3rd for a grindy winger who fits the Boston system. Backes would need to waive NTC but he could play NHL minutes and the team could use a vet after trading a few away

We then use some draft picks to move up and get some real 1st line gamebreaking prospects
