Hutch hasn't been bad recently. And he doesn't need to be a 1B, he just needs to be exactly like he's been under Keefe. He needs to give the team a chance to win and to help Andersen get some days off. With how the team has been playing, there isn't as much panic around that spot as there was before. TO just goes out and win. Right now, there isn't much need to do anything apart from continue to evaluate while the team continues to adjust to Keefe's system. That is the thing that most people on here fail to think about. They are only 20 games into learning this system, they will definitely continue to tighten things up.
I have zero issues with waiting to see how things go. That would be my plan as of 1/6/2020 if I were Dubas. Hutch I think 4 games under Keefe? My discussion point is more so...75% of the games are going to Anderson. That's too much. He's going to be worn out by the playoffs. Maybe it isn't Crow, but Hutch needs to be playing more games. If anything the rate of Anderson playing has increased since Keefe took over. I'm just thinking that a 3rd rounder for a 2 time cup winner and let's be honest, more inspired netminder when you have something to play for...would be a good addition to help keep this high for TOR going even longer. Just me.
***EDIT*** regarding the 20 games. That goes both ways. Other teams haven't had a chance to game plan against Keefe either. That's probably more a negative than you're thinking. It's actually possible this might be why TOR is on a tear recently. Just food for thought, that's all.
