***I assumed that Muzzin would be back within the time that this trade would be made.
All of these are OPTIONS, and would not be done at the same time. Some of the players (especially the fringe forwards) could be replaced by someone of equal/similar value. (IE Timashov instead of Aberg in Dillon trade)
- The top option, albeit the hardest one to get, is Dumba - no question. He has 3 years left, the same as Kappy, and has a 6m contract that looks good compared to the Barrie asking price (which will be equivalent or higher). Dumba is having a somewhat down year, but will merit a return of at least a 2rw and fringe forward, so that's what I put here. Ceci is a cap casualty and must go in the deal. I am assuming they can flip him, so he basically has minimal value instead of none. I would also potentially add a mid-low round pick if needed.
- Brendan Dillon is an interesting option, but not my first choice. He is a LHD, and we have 3 of those as is, even without Reilly. That being said, I think it's time we put Dermott on the right side anyway, so I have no problem doing it here. He is sort of the 'last-minute' option if we don't want to do a bigger move. He is a rental and likely isn't resigned, so i won't be willing to give up too much.
- Dylan Demelo is another name I like. Dirt cheap at 900k, and plays good minutes. He isn't as much of a difference maker imo, but I like the option and he's only gonna cost about a 4th. Another one that is an option if we can't do better, and is a rental unlikely to be resigned. I would put him behind Dillon in value, but has a nicer cap hit.
- Derek Forbort, Ben Hutton, and Joakim Ryan are all OTB in LA, and grabbing one of them for a low pick would be worth it if we can't make a bigger splash.
