Description
A few things...
1. This team is looking great. Not gonna mess with it on this post.
2. Ok, ok...Bura is doing real well in Colorado. However, the Caps look better without him, and he looks better without the Caps. I'll call it a wash.
2. Love seeing Connelly tearing it up. He is silencing those who said he was a product of a good team.
3. How many points does Carlson get??? My guess...108.
4. How many goals/points for Vrana??? My guess...38/72.
5. To all fellow caps fans...expect a midseason slump at some point. And be nervous if we walk away with the east and or presidents...just look at Tampa last year.

Here's to hoping the fun keeps up. And oh how grateful I am for the Caps success for what has been a long run of talented play in the Ovi/Backy Era.

PS - Can Backy get some damn respect from outside DC? Geeesh people. ;)

You're predicting that Carlson's offense falls off a little bit? Yeah. Seems reasonable, but he's pretty consistent. Of course the Norris still goes to Burns or maybe Chara. smile

I'd be pleasantly surprised to see Vrana end up over 30g 50p, but I'm here for it.

Agree that the Caps can't worry about keeping every good player all at once. The salary cap will have its parity. They've hung onto guys that work well together. Burakovsky's and Connolly's success with other teams shows that the Caps' bottom six guys don't get the scoring opportunities they'd get in top six roles elsewhere, so it shows us that we shouldn't give up on Panik over a slow offensive start in a shutodwn role. If someone in the top six slumps, he could still move up and play like the 33-44 point wing he's been for the last four years.

Would it still be interesting to add a top line talent to the third line for the playoffs? If there's a bargain, sure, but not in a bidding war.

I'd love to see Carlson keep up his current pace. But gotta balance hopes and realism. But with scoring up across the board it wouldn't shock me if he hits 120 +.

Vranas current pace is 39/31/70 ish...so yeah...38 Goals is in reach. wink. Kid is becoming a stud. Glad we picked him over Bura. Bahaha.

Not sure I really want the Caps to mess with much. Maybe a 3rd pair/backup physical Dman for the playoff grind...maybe someone like Simmonds if the price is right. You know me...I'm big on grit.

Just kinda like the way things look right now, but winning will do that. smile
