I think Dickinson has too much upside for them to give him up. I feel like he has a spot on the team by next year.

Lemme put it this way: the Leafs had also been pursuing him for several months, and the only acceptable answer was Kadri straight up. We're not selling him off for futures and he covers an important place on the depth chart, so unless we can get some other hole covered by moving him, we have no reason to do it. And I honestly can't think of anyone on the Stars who would both 1) similarly suit and 2) realistically be available in a trade with Savard as the centerpiece.
