Description
Watching the game last night, the hawks looked like a completely different team. they were quick moving the puck, the defense looked solid, goaltending was awesome. So what made the difference. No Seabs, no crow, and good line combinations. Last night was a brief glimpse into the possible future of the hawks and it looks bright.

Takeaways from last night:
It's time for seabs to hang up the skates
Cat and strome should always play together
Saad is back in his groove
Carpenter is a very reliable bottom six player with some offensive upside
Gilbert has the potential to be a reliable top 6 defenseman
Shaw has been disappointing thus far especially considering his cap space
Nylander shined bright last night and also looks like he found his groove as well

As much as I liked the analysis. These trades all favor the Hawks to be honest. DET doesn't really need Gus. Mike Green does a good job and he'll probably also be traded anyway. Carlo is a pretty darn good Dman. Not saying Murphy isn't...I just don't see why BOS would do it. Zack Smith has been waived a few times last year with no takers. I don't see CBJ taking on his cap hit unless the Hawks are sending pieces with him. Perlini….ok I'm fine with that one.

Green is old. Plain and simple and gus is going to be around for 6+ years. DET is stacked up front with prospects and young talent but is heavily lacking defenseman. As for the Boston trade, Murphy has more of an offensive upside than Carlo and is also a little more mobile than Carlo. I would be willing to add a low tier prospect to sweeten the deal. In regards to smith, waving him or trading him would be fine with me. Based on the moves, the Hawks would still have enough cap space. I appreciate the comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the analysis.

You beat the LA Kings, who many are predicting to challenge Ottawa for the worst record in the NHL this season. Perhaps this is a bit premature.

Even if the Hawks lost their overall game play looked good. Also to be fair the kings still have some solid franchise players in Doughty and Kopitar.

The difference was Chicago played the Kings who looked worst defensively than the Hawks. Enough criticism.

What Chicago did well. First time this season, they played with the puck. The defence looks better when you play in the offensive zone. Great play in offensive zone in the 2nd, for the third goal. Glad to see Strome playing with that level of intensity. Now have the same effort in Nashville and prove it wasn’t a fluke. Good win.
