Considering the first ask for Jones involved DeBrincat AND Dach, I don't think they would drop that low in value. While I agree Jones best years are behind him, he's still a good top 4 defenseman

Unlikely Eichel blockbuster trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rokk</b></div><div>Beau's not going anywhere, but let's just humor you for a moment. He's making 2.1 million. With Buffalo retaining 1.5 million, the Islanders would be paying Hall 6.5 million. So (6.5 - 2.1) = 4.4 million in cap space. How did you expect the Islanders to fit Hall under the cap when they have 0 cap space left? Sorry, bud but money in, is money out you'd be taking on a bad contract with the deal.</div></div>

Gold Medal Game Hot Takes
Better Offense: Canada- I would say Canada edges out the USA here because they much more depth with lots of very skilled all-around players while the USA has a few elite pure offensive players but less of them.
Better Defense: Canada- top 6 defensemen are all first-round picks led by Byram and Drysdale
Better Goaltending: USA- Despite Levi's insane numbers, he has been playing behind one of the best defensive core in WJC history. Spencer Knight has looked great for the USA and even if he's pulled, Wolf has still been insanely good in the tournament.
There is no doubt that this team Canada is one of the best to ever play but their downfall is their goaltending. Kaliyev and Caulfield can shoot the puck like few others and the best chance for the USA to win is to put as many shots on goal as possible. If the USA can beat Levi first and early in the game, the flood gates will open.
Hot Takes:
1. Levi gets pulled and the game is a blowout in favor of the USA
2. Game is tight and Canada wins by 2 goals or less with the goalies and defense stealing the show

Hawks wouldn't have gotten the picks they have if they didn't make the moves. So probably no Dach, Kubs would probs not be signed,

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>My favorite part is how you make trades for other teams really good high end players that you know are lowball offers, and then when they decline and say they'd rather have their players, you start telling them how bad their players are.</div></div>
It's not that the players are bad it's that they aren't a good fit for that team. The same way you wouldn't put Ovechkin on the penalty kill. Just because Ovi isn't a good fit in there doesn't mean he's a bad player

Laine Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Other then Ehlers he was their best forward this season and it wasn't close.</div></div>
Ya no. I'm assuming you won't care anyway because people never value advanced stats despite it showing how good a player really is.
I averaged where Laine ranks amongst forwards on his team in 17 different advanced stat categories and he actually is the 6th best forward on the team out of 9.

Laine Trade

I never said scoring is a negative thing. But Laine is not even close to being WPG best player and since the jets have a lackluster defense, a player who is better all-around would be more beneficial
Patrik Laine:
(stats are based on players who have played 500 minutes or more. this leaves only 16 players)
13th on the team in CF% (the higher the better)
6th on the team in most shots for (the higher the better)
5th on the team in most shots against (the lower the better)
2nd on the team in most goals for (the higher the better)
5th on the team in most goals against (the lower the better)
7th on the team in most scoring chances for (the higher the better)
5th on the team in most scoring chances against (the lower the better)
5th on the team in most high danger scoring chances for (the higher the better)
5th on the team in most high danger scoring chances against (the lower the better)
Laine is really just an offensive player who can score. He doesn't drive play well and is terrible defensively:

I'm assuming you don't look at advanced stats so here are some stats that show just how bad Dumba is on the wild:
17th on the team for FF%
2nd worst on the team for most shots against
Tied for first on the team for most goals against
21st on the team for GF%
2nd on team for most scoring chances against
2nd on team for most high danger scoring chances against
3rd on the team for worst on-ice save percentage

Dumba is expensive and a major liability. His strength is his offense which has been subpar. The wild get a young 3rd line center and a fourth-line player

Dallas Needs Offense 2
First, the NYR trade only hurts the rangers so that's a no from them.
Second, even if the trade did go through for some reason, there is no way Deangelo signs for that little.
Third, I do like the idea of the TOR trade however I don't think Nylander would be the return.

I like it a lot. As a hawks fan too, really the only position hawks have very little prospect depth in is at goalie. That being said, I rather see a trade involving strome for one of those pics and seeing if the Hawks can have two firsts in this years draft. I would love the hawks to grab Askarov and Myska
