Without the Maatta trade you keep Kahun, and don't need to trade Jokiharju. Mitchell is then only 1 spot out of the NHL lineup and would likely be the closest call-up as Seabrook will definitely get some press box experience this year and non-of the LHD prospects are as close the ready as Mitchell.

They have three 1st line caliber players, probably 7-8 middle-6 guys, and probably three true 4th line grinders/shutdown players. You have Kubalik, Sikura, Quennville, and Perlini already fighting for essentially 2 roster spots.

Are still very well under the cap (this roster is 2 players above the roster limit)
You also have the opportunity to trade Anisimov and Dahlstrom/Koekkoek for picks or whatever if you really wanted to. They now have the players that can fill the 3C spot effectively.

This whole post is to show how completely unnecessary the Maata trade is if you were even thinking about going after De Haan.
