EDM - OTT Trade Rationale:
- Bobby Ryan is due approx $20.5MM for the remainder of his contract (assuming the $2.0MM signing bonus is paid by OTT this year).
- Milan Lucic is due approx $16.0MM for the remainder of his contract (assuming the $3.0MM signing bonus is paid by EDM this year).
- By taking Lucic, OTT saves $4.5MM in total cash / salary paid, even though his contract goes for one year longer than the Ryan contract.
- Lucic + PoolParty may not be enough for OTT to move along a proven 1st/2nd line player (albeit overpaid). They need help on defence to shield their prospects, so Benning would be a solid sweetener to get this deal done.

EDM - OTT Trade Verdict:
- OTT saves on cash paid over the next four years by taking on Lucic (and letting Ryan go).
- OTT gains a good locker room leader in Lucic, and someone who can protect their prospects.
- OTT gets solid prospect which fits into their rebuild model.
- OTT gets solid 3rd pair RD with minimal term to shield prospects for one year.
- EDM gets proven 1st/2nd winger to player with McDavid/RNH.
- EDM moves out Benning salary to make room for better puck moving prospect D's (and cheaper).

Other Moves:
- EDM gains cap room from OTT Trade and usess it to sign Dzingel to $4.5MM for 4/5 years to play wing with McDavid or RNH.

Overall Verdict:
- EDM puts together an Okay team for 19-20, one that can compete but will likely still struggle to make playoffs.
- Real benefit for EDM is that they will have 5 Top-6 players signed beyond this year, and make plenty of room (both physical spots and cap) to significantly bolster the bottom-6 and D, and allow for prospects to move up (i.e. Yamo, Benson, Broberg, Bear, etc.).
