No need to trade Greiss. Just let him play out his contract. Tandem was outstanding. Vastly overpaid Connolly too

8-9 million for duo goalies seems a little rich of me. Are you giving RL 5 million to play just 45 games again? Personally, if he gets that kind of dough, he shouldn't be splitting duties. With Sorokin coming on board (likely) after next season, I trade Greiss while his value is so high (arguably the second best goalie in the NHL last season) and get a backup to start 15-20 games before the phenom is here...

They probably won't trade him, but I certainly would consider it. No sure thing they re-up with Robin anyway

I would have traded Greiss but Sorokin wanted to play out the final year of his KHL deal so what's the point in breaking up the best tandem in the NHL? As you mentioned Greiss' deal is up after the season so it's not a long term commitment.

I see Lehner as an Islanders until the Seattle expansion. He is 1A next season with Greiss, 1A the season following to Sorokin and 1B thereafter. He will likely be chosen by Seattle with a year left on is his deal and become their Fleury. Not a huge commitment all things considered

I agree that I find it highly unlikely they trade him and I do think they ink RL. I am not against going into next season with both, just also think that if you are giving Robin 5 million he shouldn't be splitting duties. Again, I am perfectly fine with keeping TG and the final year- as long as we get some scorers...but if we need that capital (should net a descent return) or 3.5 million, I would trade him while his value is so high (highest it has ever been and he isnt getting any younger)
joshelkin a aimé ceci.
