Will Marner/Kapanen/Johnsson take 1 year deals and...if so...how low will the AAV be?

If I'm Kyle I think I try and skate by with 1yr deals and then go back to the drawing board next off season when the cap goes up, Marleau comes off...and maybe you can work a deal with Seattle for them to take whichever contract is the most undesirable.

But maybe we can scratch out a roster under the cap next year without losing a major piece.

And hopefully Kyle can find 1 or 2 vets like Ennis who can come in on PTO or 1-yr league min deals to help fill out the roster. I can see Matt Moulson doing a 1yr, $700k deal to re-join Tavares

Why not? They all produce similar offence + marner gets deployed for defensive assignments/PK time. I'm still holding to the belief that Marner's camp was always and will still use Matthews as their direct comparison. And based on the comments Dubas made after the Matthews deal was announced...we know he strongly believes Marner should get less.

Unless Marleau retires I gotta think the term is 3 years or less
