What are you talking about?
A normal defender, this is definitely not a cap reset. A legitimate defenseman for any NHL team on the right side of the defense, a completely decent and stable option that can handle a lot of minutes.

Again, why do you argue like that? Skinner is the legitimate starting goalie for an NHL team. Take Chicago and their cup winning goalies, I'm not sure Crawford or Niemi were elite in the NHL.
And then I don’t understand the panic about Edmonton’s problem with goalkeepers, Skinner is clearly our number one, and Picard and Rodrigue calmly fill the role of reserve goalkeeper, very decent guys. Of course Campbell is a pain, he's terrible, but who knows, maybe the guy will take his head in the AHL and get into proper shape and be able to become a legitimate backup goalie in the playoffs.

I am surprised by people’s reasoning about something that they probably haven’t seen, judging by your statements. Ceci is definitely not a cap reset, he works out his contract to the last cent, he is a legitimate defender of the NHL squad, moreover, the man plays in the first pair, yes, I agree, it’s a little out of his place, but according to your composition, he will calmly play in the second pair, given that Weegar and Anderson play together in your first pairing, this is an adequate replacement for Tanev, who you will leave anyway. Look at his numbers, the man copes with the minutes of the first pair defender and is quite successful. Where Tanev strengthens for us is that he is harder than Ceci and skates a little faster than him, this is his advantage.
Then two late first rounds. Excuse me, but do you want the first two rounds in the top ten of the draft, which of the contenders for Tanev and Lindholm can give them to you? After all, they all make it to the playoffs, so the choice will be in the second half of the round.

Which prospect is B-, C+, maybe then a prospect of level Y or Z? Actually, Bourgault is a first round prospect and one of the best in our system, this is the equivalent of a first round. If you judge a young prospect based solely on his points, that's certainly your right, but he brings a lot of useful elements to the game, and the points will come. Do you think you can get more for Lindholm and Tanev, I’m afraid to guess what you want, maybe you want the first four rounds!?
To be honest, I don’t like this exchange, I made it as one of the possible scenarios, but this scenario is far from optimal. In my opinion, we would be better off acquiring Eberle in the second round of the draft while keeping his half salary.

He's a quintessential 4th line/tweener that should return at most a 5th or 6th. With retention, you can argue he'd be worth a 4th, but no more.</div></div>
I completely agree with you that Carrick is a typical 4th line center. But the fact is that this is a deadline, not an off-season, and the market is overheated, I can assume that his price could well be the 4th round. And we must not forget that there is a deduction of half the salary, this also has its price. In general, I admit that a fair price for Carrick with retention would be the 3rd round without additions.

Two very good right-handed strikers, ready to be in the main team in a season. Plus the second round of the upcoming draft from a team that is currently not even in the playoffs, and this is the top 50 draft picks.

I agree with you at the moment AZ is refusing this proposal. But in this trade, I assumed the time period of the deadline, and if Arizona at the moment closer to the deadline is not in the playoff zone, and this is quite likely, then in my opinion Arizona will agree, I think this is a very good offer.

I'm not sure you fully understand the prospects for this exchange. At the moment, Calgary is at the stage of a sluggish ongoing restructuring, and it is unlikely that you will be able to retain at least one UFA. Therefore, you will still give up Tanev, and the prospect in return is to get a good, experienced right-handed defenseman with a reasonable contract for another year and, as a sweetener, to get probably the most promising prospect in our organization, an excellent skater, with excellent scoring abilities, who is potentially a top-4 defenseman and first brigade of the majority. And this is for rent, which you will lose anyway. I think this is a bold sentence.

If you argue that EDM is the fourth worst team in the league, then you have absolutely no idea how this team is doing. We will be in the playoff zone, that's absolutely certain, it's only a matter of time. EDM is a great team. I see several positions that need to be strengthened and here I have made them. The cup is very close to Edmonton this year and hopefully the cup will be there.

How does the Oilers have no space under their cap for this move????
Take a closer look at our budget. If we give Ceci's contract, and receive in return only half of Pesci's contract, then we even have extra money under the cap.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>How many times did Skinner get pulled in the playoffs this past year? Pulled... not his bad games, the ones where he got pulled for Campbell? EDM defence isn't very good, the only other playoff team that allowed more goals then EDM is Florida and they were in a stacked Atlantic division compared to EDM's Pacific with 2 of the bottom 4 teams being from the Pacific
As for the bottom 6, the Oilers had 4 guys hit 80 or more points (due to their his PP opportunities and their high PP percentage). With the exception of those 4 guys, Tyson Barrie and Darnell Nurse would have led the team with 43 each... No other guy got more than 30 points after those 6 guys. The bottom 6 isn't producing enough and isn't defending enough to win.
The Oilers have roughly 2/3 more years before Mcdavid and Draisaitl ask for their 16+ mill each and sewer the Oilers' cap situation or leave in FA. The stats are there, Holland knows how to improve them into a cup(s) (he's also got to find someone that will get to Mcdavid and Draisaitl about playing defence but that's another topic for another day). He also knows the assets he might have to part with to get it done... The question is: Will he do what it takes to win (including admitting he made some bad moves and moving on from them)?</div></div>
What are you talking about now about the goals conceded, this is a question of the organization of the game, and not a question of personalities. Here is the issue of organization, which is dealt with by the coach, our coach is young and promising, I believe in him and his team, I am sure he will make adjustments to the team defense system, and with regards to personalities, he has capable and skillful players at his disposal.

What do you mean it can't find a place in the composition? This means that you are saying things that you have no idea about. Vogel had a great last playoff. I suggested Foegelle because I saw such an offer on the Hurricanes fan thread. We can do without Foegelle in the exchange, it will be even better for us, he is a legitimate player in our top 9.
Broberg and the first round are not enough?, what do you want for a year's player loan?

I'll start with the last one. What is the whole season? Written TDL 24, the deadline for the exchange, is it really difficult to understand?
Why would Calgary never make this kind of exchange? What are you based on? Lindholm has said he won't renew with Calgary, he's UFA, it's a classic loan, quite a decent package of prospects for Lindholm's loan.

Yamo was traded without deduction, he was bought out by an outside organization, as a member of his team, Edmonton has nothing to do with the buyout. I have a feeling that Yamo left unfinished business here. For a million, this is a completely suitable option, let him show his need in a competitive environment, if he fails, then you can safely lower him to the AHL.
