<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CamdenHamilton</b></div><div>Wait till July 1st and replace with a good prospect than, I imagine Wood is untouchable so if no prospect Tommy Novak?
Id rather Robertson than Sillinger or Texier. As you said the rest are still taking time to develop as is Robertson, the kid is 22 and has proven he can score. With the logic you're arguing where will Dumais fit then? May aswell have more bullets in your chamber.
Well Werenski and Provorov are LD so not even in the conversation.
Right side is looking like Severson,Boqvist,Gudbranson (Liljegren has had better numbers throughout his career than Boqvist and a higher ceiling; the guy would have went top 5 without missing half the season with mono)
So I would say Severson,Liljegren,Boqvist and dump the Gudbranson contract (You cant possibly tell me he is worth what he is paid)
As for your initial comment; could i see Columbus saying no? Absolutely
Is it a fleece? No</div></div>

Nashville isn't going to make Evangelista available, Tomasino sure but not Evangelista. Then replace the 1st with Fabbro or Parssinen and a trade is probably close to fair.

You may rather have Robertson than Sillinger and Texier but they are all roughly the same caliber player (Texier a couple years older but missed a season and Sillinger a couple years younger). It is a swap at forward of Robertson for Jenner, not Robertson and Sillinger or Texier, which is absolutely a downgrade for Columbus. And as mentioned before Columbus ownership fired their GM for trying to trade Jenner. As for Dumais, he has 3 years of ELC still and is waiver exempt until 27/28. Not to mention he is regarded as a top ~20 prospect right now. Robertson looses exemption this summer and Liljegren lost it 2 years ago.
WDYM Liljegren would have went top 5? Like in the draft? He isn't that good, and trust me I like Liljegren. Both him and Boqvist are very mid defensemen. Both have been given the opportunity and have failed to take the next step on multiple occasions. In reality they probably trade Boqvist this offseason to give Jiricek a spot in the top 4. I am not arguing whether or not Gudbranson is overpaid but the fact remains that he is still a solid PKer and one of the best fighters in the league. You simply will never get that kind of play from someone like Liljegren. They may not even qualify Bean either so that they can promote someone like Svozil, Ceulemans, or Mateychuk.
I call that trade a fleece because Dumais looks could be a Gaudreau level steal from the 2022 draft and Jenner is by far the best player right now in the trade (FYI the last person to put up scoring like that in the Q was like Crosby and Radulov, albeit Crosby did it before he was drafted)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CamdenHamilton</b></div><div>A rental, did you miss the extension of 6x11? Marner has spoken highly of nashville. If anything the leafs get a rental with Saros and a winger with way less potential?
Dumais has eerily similar numbers to Robertson in junior? The difference is robertson had one of the highest shooting percentages in the NHL this year and has proven at the next level and columbus has a boatload of prospects?
Columbus cant score.. Columbus has zero defence..
2 Proven NHLers for a 30 year old Boone Jenner and an unproven undersized prospect.
To be fair I was not sure about Matt Roys value in the market. Either or you can just replace that contract with Alex Carrier
If Montour wants 7 years, than give him 7 years.</div></div>

Hey you're new so FYI if you are replying to someone hit the quote button on their post. Otherwise they don't get pinged

As for your response:
1. Marner cannot sign a contract extension until at the very earliest July 1st. Your trade includes Nashville's 2024 1st round pick and the draft takes place in June so no I did not miss that you wrote down he has an extension. Also how can you apply the logic of Marner isn't a rental but Saros is? That makes no sense. Lastly Pending UFA's are always valued as rentals. There is no benefit to a sign and trade whatsoever so the acquiring team is the team that negotiates for a contract extension or not. The selling team has no say in that.
2. That is a very ignorant take on Columbus. They are a very young team, and players take time to both develop and get used to the NHL. They are no longer the best player on the ice like they were in junior. Not to mention they were plagued by a lot injuries this year, Provorov is the only player that played all 82 games. Kekalainen basically got fired because he was shopping Jenner and ownership doesn't want to trade him. Also who exactly is Robertson replacing on that team, he's a middle 6 winger and they already have Gaudreau, Laine, Voronkov, Chinakhov, Marchenko, Johnston, Sillinger, Texier, and soon to be joining them is Gavin Brindly too. As for their defense, who exactly is Liljegren better than? Not Werenski, not Provorov, not Severson, not Jiricek. You could maybe argue he's better than Boqvist but that's a coinflip. So he's better than Bean and Gudbranson? Well Gudbranson plays an enforcer role that Liljegren obviously can't play.
3. Top 4 defensemen are always in high demand, right handed ones are always in higher demand. Carrier is going to get more than 3M too
