kessel was good, like I said, 82 points is a very good season, but not "great". if he got 30+ goals and 90+ points it wouldve been great</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sqm918</b></div><div>Pretty good ratings. Especially JJ. He is a toxic dumpster fire on the ice. His ONLY upside is that he can block shots, but so could Ian Cole. They should have kept him and never signed JJ. Jack has made the JJ-Schultz pairing quite terrible. He should be watching games in the press box all playoffs (barring injury), but Sullivan likes to tongue punch his fart box, so he’ll play every game.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan89</b></div><div>I think these rankings are pretty accurate. I’d probably give Schultz a slightly better grade only because he has had his good moments even being paired with JJ. And we all know it’s JJ bringing him down.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gaudetster</b></div><div>Great job, not sure about JJ an F- is too good, is their anything lower, we should toss him in the ECHL to help him develop, whatever he is doing it ain't working</div></div>

I think we should be fair about what JJ we are talking about here.
JJ had to play a lot this season on his off side. That's really hard to do. He really doesn't have the ability to pull it off. At one point he was a -20 playing over there and he was bringing everyone around him down doing it. It was a huge mistake on the organizations part for putting him there from the beginning and I don't think we should blame him because of it. They should have all known playing him on the RHD for months with Schultz out wasn't going to work out well. The coaching staff should have adjusted. But it seems they let it be sink or swim with him. Maybe that was Sully's way of saying, if that's the way you want it, that's the way you'll get it in a power move. I don't know. Either way it had to come to an end but I don't think JJ should really be judged by his time on the right side.

On top of it, JJ was brought in as a rehabilitation project in his 30s. Which I think kind of irked fans and the media. You don't rehab 30+ year old players. So I think from the get go things were kind of against him.

Having said that he's only a -4 on the year. Which says a lot about his play on the left side. I'm not saying he's the greatest defense man in the history of the game, but he played well enough on his left side to at least get close to even from spending a large amount of time on the disastrous right side.

'What I do know is his even strength goif is a 54 and goiA is a 63. So you are looking at -9 on the year there. I don't think they are all his fault. I seen a lot of goals where I think he's just bad luck to be on the ice with and he gets dinged as giving up a goal. Like the kessel playing defense goal. Yeah, I would have liked JJ to not pinch there there because well Kessel, but he did and that was his mistake. But my god, if he got any help from kessel there I don't think there is a goal against. He was just rotating and pinching down in the zone to help. At some point you need other players to have your back there. I think there were a few goals I looked at this year and thought, it's not really JJ fault. Not that some weren't, but it's not as bad as I think people make it. He just happens to always be the one on the ice when something stupid happens. Like a bad penny.

I think as long as JJ plays conservatively and doesn't roam he's a really solid player on the Left side, he just has to play his game. My honest feeling is if he played on the left side all year we wouldn't be talking about him like we are now. It wouldn't have been that bad. Hell I even think he would have been in the + in goal difference. But we can't change that now.

Does he deserve an F. For his time on the RHD I'd say definitely. But who's fault is it for putting him over there.
As for his time on the LHD. I'd say he's at least a C grade. Hell he's been no worse than Maatta over there.
