Smart yes but never hurts to have wicked centre depth with the big three down the middle things would look good bad thing is you need wingers to play with them an oilers lack snipers

Desharnais is probably worth a 5th or 6th.
STL wouldn't want Desharnais.
Montreal hates Kreider.
The MTL trade wouldn't even be enough to get Galchenyuk.
The avs weakness is D, they're not trading one of their best ones for a forward.
Nash isn't worth a 1st much less both a 1st and a 3rd.
Sharks don't need Hayes, they have enough centers.

Avs 100% turn down that deal, Zads has been the Avs top pairing force this year. Vesey doesnt even come close to the value the Avs would need here

Cool, unlike real negotiations I like to start too high to eliminate the hater comments haha. I think pre-injury Fabbri is only slightly less valuable than Hoffman, but there are huge question marks given the b2b surgeries, so his value is probably much lower.

I'm not against Hoffman at all, but I think the price is too steep considering our lineup.

Reinhardt or ROR from Buffalo is very interesting. Not sure how I feel about this, because the package would be huge. ROR would be an excellent option except he has a contract for eternity and is young, assuming that would take Parayko. Not interested. Reinhardt probably slightly cheaper, maybe something that can be acquired in pieces, but still expensive pieces. He would be Stastny's replacement next year.

Mikael Backlund is an interesting target, but Calgary needs him, and I'm sure they'd do something like Backlund + Brouwer for whatever, which is like, eating a tasty candy bar filled with acid and razor blades.

If Tavares is on the market I'd make that #1. If JVR is on the market that is my #2, Pavelski #3, OEL #4..I'm not sure where I can put another left winger into that priority order...maybe in the top 10? That is just STL's strength. Hard to give up futures to upgrade one of the team's strongest areas when other areas can be improved with those same assets.</div></div>

Genuinely curious what you're basing value on? Last year only 40 players in the NHL scored 60 points or more... Additionally, Kane isn't moving for less than a 1st + good prospect (just the price for a goal scoring rental). Ryan O'Reilly wouldn't take Parayko, because ROR has an awful contract. Ekman Larsson for Fabbri and Berglund? Really interested to hear how you value players like Berglund so high. Berglunds are a dime a dozen - Stajan, Bonino, Zack Smith, Brian Boyle, Vermette. There are plenty of players who can play 3C, win 47% of their faceoffs, average 35 points/year, and sport a slightly above average corsi (career .8 CF relative).

I'm a fan of Stone for sure and would love him, but the problem is the Leafs won't trade Brown. Born and raised in Toronto. Grew up loving the Leafs. Works extremely hard.

If you watch Babcock interviews he consistently mentions stuff like "that player works like a Brown or Hyman"

If the Leafs had a deal lined up trading Brown I bet Babcock would do his absolute best to veto it.

So the answer is really that he isn't being dealt. He brings more value to the team on and off the ice than he could bring back in a trade. Not a shot at Stone at all, just that Brown is loved by everyone in Toronto.

I agree there's no comparison to Duchene who is also a centre. It would just be too much if I was the blues gm. One of those guys plus, sure but not all 3

Even if they are in the playoff picture I think they would entertain your proposal. You are correct that the proposed trade above is far too weak. Im not saying EJ is amazing, but he is very important to their roster.

To me, the difference is that Hoffman with 2+ years left doesn't have to be traded now from Ottawa... Pacc will be moved somewhere before TDL of at the Draft. MTL need to jump start the rebuild now.
