I guess my description didn't save on the team but in my description i had a disclaimer that i doubt they would spend on big name UFAs but they might reconsider if they've taken care of all their inhouse guys and still have 30M+ in cap left. And if they were to try to spend on a big UFA reinhart would be the only one that makes any sense as hes the youngest (28yrs old).
On Nazar and Rinzel I feel like they could both make the squad out of camp and get their 9 games in before a decision is made. Overall this is more looking forward if they dont make it next year they will likely be there the year after

I think all the deals make sense except for the Habs deal, Don't think they need tippet and they arent going to give up Barron and a Frist to get him. Otherwise I could see the rest happening.
Oilers deal maybe subtract the 2nd round pick if they are giving up both Akey and Holloway and a First but still deals make sense more or less

World cup team Europe
I like the team my only thing is if you're making a team to fit the format of the NHL World Cup like in 2016 the Czechrepublic had their own team in the tournament.
It would be interesting to see what this team looks like if you only have the guys from EU countries not considered in the Big 6 (Canada, USA, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Czechrepublic).

I can see the argument for Jones over trouba and after thinking about it I agree and it seems to work with some shifting of Pairs we get Jones playing again with Werenski who he played his best hockey with in Columbus.
Pavelski was the hardest cut for met to make here I like him but at the end of the day i think it would be an age thing why take the 37 year old when there are guys that 10+ years younger that can do it just as well. I don't think Roberston makes the team. Yes he has a knack for scoring but a lot of the time watching him he looks lazy and disinterested and honestly i think hes the 5th best guy on his own team behind Hintz, Heiskinen, Ottinger and Pavelski and I think there are other options that are just as good if not better

Team Canada Best On Best
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mv21227</b></div><div>Disagree with a couple things from your write up
•Neither Scheifele or Horvat are strong defensive players
•Toews is probably Canada’s best LHD and he also has chemistry with Makar, so he should be here. Bump Morrissey down and take Chabot out imo
Apart from that this is pretty good, although I think Reinhart deserves a spot with how good he’s been this year, and Dougie Hamilton should probably be here as well (guessing you forgot about him as he’s not included in the lower list of players who didn’t make it for you).
I might put Chychrun and Giroux in as well personally, but those are closer calls</div></div>
You made some good points, while i think you were harsh on the level of defensive play you can get from Horvat and Schief I agree there could be other options and I agree that the way reinhart has been playing he would deserve a shot so I changed the 4th line around a bit bringing in Couturier and Reinhart and taking out the guys above.
I disagree on the defense, don't get me wrong I like Toews and yes he is Makars partner i think as an individual player he isn't as good as the other guys on this list. I see him more as a Jake Muzzin, a solid player in his own right but his profile is carried by his partner (in Muzzin's case doughty) who is one of the best D in the world. I think in a best on best you put your best guys together and in this case thats Makar and Morrissey based on the way Morrissey has played over the past 2 years. Think Weber and Doughty, they could have brought Muzzin because him and Doughty were good together but Weber was better than Muzzin and Weber-Doughty ended up being the best pairing at 2 straight Olympics.
There are guys who I would hear arguments for replacing Chabot on D but I don't think Chych is one of them

If Jeannot (career 0.38ppg) is worth Foote, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th then Dvorak (Career 0.5ppg, over a larger sample size) who is 1 year older is more disciplined, better skater, and higher IQ player could definitely fetch a similar price.

I think on D that Theo, Pieterangeo, Makar, Chabot and Ekblad are locks and a bunch of guys are fighting for the last 3 spots I have Morrissey here because he is a great skater and one of the better shutdown guys available that still moves the puck better than average, that being said I would not be surprised if Nurse, Ellis, Doughty or whoever else makes it instead

He is my thoughts on that, Keith was a Dman that always heavily relied on his skating and with aging players skating is the first thing to diminish. However, McDonagh while being a good skater was never as good as keith, karlson, subban or any of these other dmen who have significantly dropped off as they have aged, he relied more on being positionally sound, playing angles and being a bigger strong body an archetype more closely related to a Shea Weber or Zedeno Chara or even an Alex Edler. This archetype as we've seen especially in Weber and Chara tend to age more slowly and maintain a higher level of play for longer.
And please don't counter with seabrook because lets be honest a build up of major injuries and back problems are what ended his career.

Overall not a bad projection. I think that the McDonagh to Chicago makes sense but I think the Bolts will try to get either Ian Mitchell or Beaudin attached to those picks or instead of the 3rd.
The expansion theory makes sense and is a possibility.
Only real problem is I think you majorly overvalue/overpay Coleman at that money I doubt the Bolts bring him back, he's about 42pts/82 games in his last 2 seasons and he has never surpassed 36pts a year he is not worth the money, bolts will keep him if they can get him around 3M max.

Tampa Bay Cap Issues
Few issues with this,
1 if they retain half of McDonagh's money they won't have to attach a pick to trade him, I also think there are teams that would still take him at his full dollar amount without a pick attached. Secondly doubt the redwings would be interested in McD. since they are going younger and rebuilding from the ground up, doesn't make sense going to that destination.
Foot wont sign for 750kx3 this isn't NHL21, he will take a 2 year bridge in the range of 1.25-1.5 knowing that he will finally have a real chance to contribute to the team and prove his value as a former first round pick to capitalize on the next contract.
Third you didn't do expansion, which Seattle will likely take someone from the roster with a cap hit of 4.5-6mill which would allow you to keep Cernak who they wont want to get rid of

Trades will be hard to come by before the expansion draft because teams won't want to acquire someone that would prevent them from protecting their own players, at the end of the day every team in the league is going to lose something for nothing you just have to deal with it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jim_Benning_Almost</b></div><div>Wow!! This is one of the most outlandish trades that I've seen here yet. You expect Winnipeg to give up two d-men prospects (one who is going to be outstanding), AND add two meaningful draft picks to take on an aging defender whose skills are diminishing quickly and is earning $6.75M a year for the next 5 years? Whoooo!!! Everyone in Winnipeg would lose their jobs the day that trade happens.
On top of all that, McDonagh controls his destiny, and his destiny's destination is most certainly not Winnipeg.</div></div>
Like I said to another comment about McDonagh it Does not have to be to Winnipeg, Chicago also has the defensive prospects to make a deal. But, McDonagh is from St. Paul Minnesota, so Winnipeg would take him close to home and that is something a lot of older players want (see Duncan Keith).
Also I would argue that Niku is not really a A or B prospect, I would call him a C prospect at best, Winnipeg completely restructured their Back end this year and he still could not find an every day role on the Team. He was a 7th round pick 6 years ago and will be 25 years old by the time next season starts and I think his ceiling may be a bottom pair d-man. In all I would say Niku's value is minimal at best right now and he wouldn't be an integral part of the trade.
Secondly, I don't know if you can call a guy who's averaged 24min a night over two cup winning runs in the past two years diminishing. He was never the greatest or fastest skater, he was always solid positionally and added tons of value in his own end while chipping in around 0.5ppg with NYR and his first year in TB, and we've seen multiple examples of how slowly elite d-men of this archetype can age (Chara, Weber, Edler (to a lesser degree)). Yes his point production may have fallen off with TB the past few years but he's been asked to play a different role, one that is more defensively oriented but he has still excelled. I think if he goes to a different situation where the expectations of him are different he could revert back to closer to 0.5ppg that he was averaging up until 2 years ago.
Now onto Stanley, who you say is going to be outstanding, yes he could be, but he also could just be an average every day NHL defenseman. He is 23 heading into next season and is coming off a season where he averaged 13min of ice a night and put up 4pts across 37 games and 3pts across 8 playoff games where he averaged 14min a night. He has never really been a huge point producer on the back end during any part of his career so far. He has elite size but that's really all we know about him, will he turn into a Chara? likely not. Could he be another Oleksiak where he plays 18-20min a night and puts up around 20 points a year, I'd say that's the minimum that the Jets are hoping for. Could he be an Erik Cernak type, playing ~20min a night putting up around 30pts a season yeah potentially. Could he be somewhere in between the 3 of these? I'd say that's likely, but I wouldn't say he's for sure going to be an outstanding D-man.
If your problem with the deal is you think its too much for McDonagh then feel free to take out Niku or the 3rd round pick but I honestly do not believe the trade is that far fetched when you look at all the factors including Winnipeg's needs on the back end, and the potential that McDonagh may find being on a competitive team that is only a 7h drive from his family home in St. Paul attractive at this point in his career.

Does not have to be to Winnipeg, Chicago also has the defensive prospects to make a deal. Also, McDonagh is from St. Paul Minnesota, so Winnipeg would take him close to home and that is something a lot of players want near the later parts of their careers (see Duncan Keith).
And you are right Johnsons value is diminished but he's also been lost in the most stacked roster in the league for a few years now a team like Seattle who will have the cap space for a few years would probably take a flyer on the guy if it only costs a 5th, 6th or 7th pick in the hopes that he can revitalize his career, see Sam Bennett in FLA
