<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>js64js64</b></div><div>His game style issue is just that he is too Offensive and we have Offensive D man on the right in our top pairing. And idk about you but I liked the Letang POJ pairing for the first few weeks after they moved Dumi down. Letang wasn't playing good at all to start the season and playing with POJ turned it around. But it certainly didn't stay good long.

If POJ could play with Petry Long term that works, another option is a 2nd pairing right handed guy to play with POJ and Petry on the third. Maybe if Fried can finally crack the roster (he has that grittiness we need on D) he could play with Petry but he obviously needs to work on making smarter zone exit passes.

Regardless tho, I think Graves and Letang could be the best D paring in the league, not that plus minus is a good stat at all but he's been near the top of the league in plus minus every season minus last year when he was playing with a shoulder problem most of the year. And he has sneaky offensive output that could complement Letang</div></div>

That's fair - he's definitely more of an offensive puck moving defenseman. For me though if something works it works. So even if on paper the POJ/Petry pair seems too offensive, if it works it works ya know.

The POJ/Letang pair was pretty average at best. I think a lot of Letangs struggles came from playing with Dumo to start the season. I think his better play started once they bumped Pettersson up to the first pair.

That's a possibility I guess - but they're paying Petry 6.25mil and brought him in to play 2nd pair minutes - I don't think he's moving down at all. Sullivan likes lefty/righty combos, so I doubt Petry/Friedman would become a pair. Plus Friedman is like 8th on the D depth chart, so I doubt he becomes a starter anytime soon. Friedman's enjoyable to watch - he plays hard. But I still don't think he's anything more than a 7th defenseman. Just my opinion.

I think Graves/Letang would be pretty similar to Pettersson/Letang. Which is a good thing. I wouldn't mind them taking a look at Graves - he has the Dumo skill/playstyle from those cup years. I just hope they address the forward group first.
