I think Stauber is the guy that competes with Soderblom. He was lights out for Rockford after a shaky start.

I think you've massively overvalued Järnkrok. Also if you can't handle a little criticism, maybe posting on here isn't a good idea.

Looks like you've got a garage sale going on here. I think Chicago drives past, sees what's available and keeps moving.

Chicago passes on both. No room for a goalie with Stauber, Comesso, and Weeks in Rockford and Mrazek and Soderblom in Chicago.
The other trade makes no sense for Chicago. Having Kuznetsov and his piss poor attitude around the kids isn't a good idea and Honka is a smallish puck moving defenseman that can't play defense. He doesn't fit this team's defense.

This one is beyond stupid my man. There's zero chance Chicago retains that much for that long without getting a king's ransom in return.

Seems like communication breakdown between Kaut and Barracuda staff. I think his game compliments Chicago so I'd be willing to take a shot with him for a 7th. He could be Kubalik 2.0 or better.

I can see folks are just as illiterate in the future as they are now, if not worse. Go take a spelling class while you're here so you can teach future dummies how to spell. Also Chicago declines.

I’d say he’s worth like pick 11-13 + a Kakko type young middle 6 player</div></div>

I wouldn't fault Ottawa for accepting this. There's absolutely no reason for Chicago to make this trade though.

Serious offer to move up to 2 Chicago
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Spencer Gill should absolutely be there. I think there will be much better available in the 2nd round, though. As far as RD, one or more of Brunicke, Emery, Badinka, Elick, and Mewes could possibly be there, Marrelli, Jiricek, Danford, Kleber, and Soini should almost certainly be there. If I had to guess, Gill probably goes in the 3rd or 4th round, MAYBE late 2nd. I do like Gill a lot, though.</div></div>
You really think Gill and Jircek are dropping that far? They're both 1st round talents. At least that's what the "experts" are saying.

Serious offer to move up to 2 Chicago
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>lol. I really don't mean it to be harsh. It's just how I feel about Lev. He just is not someone I consider with the 2nd overall pick. Maybe if we had fallen to 3rd or 4th OA I would start to consider him more seriously. But I don't know how anyone who actually watched him this past season walks away thinking "That is the best player available after Celebrini."</div></div>
That's a fair assessment. I'm hoping with the abundance of defensemen in this draft that Spencer Gill drops to #34 or Chicago trades up to get him. I love his game and he seems like a perfect fit for Richardson.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>I mean... KD has stated pretty clearly that BPA is a big part of their philosophy. My favorite argument for who to draft 2nd overall is whether or not I think "F#$% YEAH!" when I think of the player. Levshunov makes me think "ok. If you say so." haha</div></div>
Damn that's harsh lol.

Chicago has plenty of late round picks. I think they'd rather keep the retention slot and put it to better use later.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Not true. Demidov is clearly the best player available at 2nd OA. If MTL is trading up to 2nd overall, they are trading up for Demidov.</div></div>
I agree he's going to be the BPA at #2 but who knows what's going on inside the heads of Chicago's brass. They may have a man crush on Lindstrom's size and potential. Or the idea of Levshunov on the right side for years to come could sway them.

Serious offer to move up to 2 Chicago
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Demidov is heads and shoulders above any other forward prospect. He's a half step behind Celebrini, with the only reason he is grouped with others below him being the russian factor and some size concern. However, if Demidov comes over a year from this summer, which I believe he will, he will be an all-star level player. Lindstrom, Catton, etc. as of now do not have the ceiling of demidov. Because the Hawks need a RW badly, can't seem them not taking Demidov aside from possibly taking Levshunov if the Hawks feel that strongly about him and filling another need at RHD.</div></div>
I agree Demidov is one of the most gifted players in the past few drafts, scoring at a higher pace than Kucherov, Kaprizov, and Michkov in their draft years. I also believe Trevor Connelly may be just about as gifted but whoever drafts him is going to have to navigate a ton of well deserved negative press. For me Demidov is the best talent outside of Celebrini but maybe Chicago's FO found red flags we don't know, or maybe they fell in love with someone else.

No Trades
Moore, Rinzel, and Basse are all headed back for another year of college hockey and Demidov has another year left on his KHL contract. Out of those UFA signings, Domi is the only one I see as realistic.

In a draft where picks 2-6 are a crap shoot, you're way overpaying for that #2 pick. Provided Chicago's FO hasn't fallen in love with a prospect they'd be stupid not to accept. The way I see it, one of Demidov or Lindstrom is still available at #5.

Edit: Also, You should just send him to CHI without retention and then have us retain half. That would be $2.25M less of a cap hit for BUF than how you have it structured currently.</div></div>
Beat me to it!

In your scenario you're not saving much at all since the rained amount is still on your books so you're paying 75% of his salary. Not sure if it's legal but if a team were to receive him plus a sweetener for FC and turn around and trade him back half retained, now you're only paying 50% instead.
