Like I said, wing isn't a priority. I would guess Demidov is lower on Columbus's list than the other three likely candidates for the top five. Personally, I'd hope they'd take him if given the chance, but I'd be surprised. Hopefully the whole top five can get perfect fits, Montreal included.

Moving up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ht42</b></div><div>Ton of high-quality wingners ???
They only have Johnson as a top winger. They have Sillinger, Fantili and Brindley at C.</div></div>
Brindley will not be a C at the NHL level. He'll be a RW. And don't forget already in the NHL, there's Chinakhov, Marchenko, and Voronkov who can all play wing. Then you've got Johnny Gaudreau taking up a top-6 LW spot for most of the next decade. Wing is definitely not an organizational priority, although I personally hope they wouldn't turn down Demidov if he fell to fourth.

If Levshunov is gone at 2... then it's pretty sure that one of Demidov or Lindstrom falls to us - so there would be no need to do the trade... and definitly not for that price... but KH would call Verbeek in a heartbeat to to try to move up.

Seems like Montreal will gonna trade to going up in the Draft for Demidov
I could see the Hawks trading out of #3OA for #5 & #27 & Barron. Demidov may be a little to much of the same size and shape as recent Hawks forward picks....Bedard, Nazar, & Moore are 5'10, 5'9, & 5'11.
I could see at #2 if they are not sold on Levshunov that they could pull the trigger on the proposed deal here.

I was actually at that game lol
I remember telling my wife I hoped he eventually makes the team full time. She seemed confused due to how good he looked. I told her he is still a long shot but if he hits that’s a huge win. Jury is still out but it’s a no risk / high reward keeping him around.

Another Rossi Idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>I think you're correct in thinking Guhle would be a perfect partner for Faber. But there's ZERO chance MTL let him go for a Rossi package.
Habs would be looking at doing another Dach/Newhook type trade, and Rossi would be a good candidate / target for MTL. but we are talking moving draft picks here. Guhle is not for sale and should be considered an untouchable for MTL imo. So unless MIN would consider moving one of their untouchables, I don't see it happening.</div></div>
I doubt that Hugues target Rossi. They made it clear that they needed to get bigger up front on media day. Rossi is sure a good player but 0 physical.

Good offer for Necas
Canes fan with a little different take here.
I'm a huge Necas fan & supporter, but I would still seriously consider this if I'm the GM in Carolina. While everything said about a contending team and wanting players who can contribute now is true, it's isn't always realistic. Of course we'd prefer a younger/cheaper player that could contribute but those aren't just readily available. The best way to extend the current window is to maximize the value and return you get for the asset. If the market for Necas demands 7M+, I'd rather take the 2 firsts /bottom 6 vet/prospect and bring back Teravainen for 2-3 years at a lower number (4-5M?). At some point you need the ELC/RFA value that the likes of Necas/Jarvis/Drury have afforded coming through the pipeline to make space for the guys you HAVE to pay.
Again, I'm a huge Necas fan and would prefer him back on a team friendly deal if possible but if that's not in the cards, I'd take an overpay in futures over aging vets with bloated contracts just to try to match the production they'd be losing.

Pageau for Evans
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howie</b></div><div>Nyi obviously decline nothing there worth giving up a first for lol</div></div>
Well you have to look at the cap space, this deal frees up $3.3M next year and $5M the following year when looking at Pageau for Evans. So combined that is $8.3M.
Monahan got MTL a first for 1 year of $6.375M. Marleau got Carolina a first for 1 year of $6.25M.
It really depends on how the Islanders utilize that cap space, but the value is obviously there seeing as there is a precedent. You may also be overvaluing 18th overall - how many 18th overall picks do you think have the career Domi has (who in this example is signed with the cap space from dealing Pageau).
Going back to 1999, the clear hits at 18th overall are: Mercer, Harley, Chabot, Tuch, and Teravainen... so that's approximately a 20% chance in drafting a player better than Domi. Other players are just NHL replacement level and others are complete busts... so when you think about it they likely are not giving up too much.

Montreal can target them instead of others
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ht42</b></div><div>About the Jack Quinn option, a very popular Montreal journal (Le Journal de Montréal) made an article about somes young players that the Habs can target, and one of them was Quinn. The reason of why they decided to put him there it's because of all his injuries that he have since he was in the NHL, and they thinks that Buffalo can decide to get rid of him because of that (just like what the Hawks did with Dach......).
That's isn't a rumour, that's just an idea.</div></div>
I guess they can target any player in the league but Quinn is definitely not available at the moment.

I just don't see why Nucks go for this. They already have plenty of LHD. I like it for Montreal perspective, but I can't see why for the other side. Myers is finally done his 6mil contract (so some of that money can pay for Hronek).

Interesting idea and i think the value is fine, just unsure if SJS is willing to do this. Its not like they could retain on Anderson and flip so they may be detered. Not all that bad value though IMO, Barron is a stud

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>They trade a garbage overpayed forward well past expiration date for an over payed 30 goal scorer. Makes a ton of sense for MTL</div></div>
No it doesn’t
First off we are in no need for cap space, so paying to dump Anderson doesn’t make sense in general. Secondly we’re taking on more cap, Skinner may be better than Anderson but he’s also over payed himself.
Montreal isn't giving up assets to dump Anderson just to take on a more expensive contract, when skinner doesn’t fit the timeline. Makes no sense for Montreal, even if skinner is the better player, still makes no sense
