The worst Gm's in the league RN i think are Chia, Holland (as of late), and Bowman (As of late),</div></div>
The dynasty in Chicago was made by Tallon and Bowman benefited from Dales work. Bowmans trade history is atrocious and the more he is coming into light the more he looks like douche. Holland was great for many decades and is one of the best GMs in history imo for what he has done with Detroit in long term look. But time has come up to him and I think SteveY would take over Detroit from him in spring. Chiarelli is bull**** artist straight up..

There's Kyrou who they sent down to AHL. We also have Lost in who may not be ready, but hell, can't hurt. They have to trade Steen first though. Once that happens it can open the door for more moves

What makes his contract more ****ty is that he has a NMC which STL is a team he could waive for that wont have any bad implications you know? Again, maybe not carlo then, would M. Grezlyk be more in the ballpark?</div></div>
If it's Schenn, it will definitely have to be one of Carlo, Vaakanainen, or Studnicka plus a 1st. Honestly, I would prefer Vaakanainen over Carlo just because we need help on the left side. If It's Steen, maybe Lauzon, First, and a lower pick with Backes included?

Marner is literally carrying the leafs and has been mentioned in Hart convos. As per Domi, hes been nothing but gold for MTL and is the biggest reason why MTL has a resurgence. I agree. And this is coming from a Jets fan. MTL should let shaw ride shotgun on Drouin and Domi's line to increase his value and then trade him in the offseason. Suzuki then comes into that spot next season.

idk i think the only reason for nashville to trade one of the big 4 is knowing that fabbro comes in next year - trading both leaves a hole on defense and doesnt really make sense imo. decent value wise tho

I agree, if I was Ottawa I would definitely not detract from Karlsson's value by including Ryan in the deal.
Also, Vegas and Arizona will not take on Ryan's contract unless there is something in it for them.
1. Sending some money back and having Ryan retained to a palatable cap hit
2. Receiving prospects and picks
Those are the only two ways a team takes on Ryan's contract IMO. Seeing that Ottawa is now rebuilding, they will likely want to hold on to their prospects and picks.

Sparks is literally the best goalie in the AHL right now and you want to trade him for scraps? Yeah, no. I'd rather pay a 3rd or 2nd for Plekanec. Shosh got a 4th round pick today, so Leivo is worth a 3rd-4th as well. And hell no to the green trade. Johnsson is going to be JVR replacement and you want to trade him plus a 1st and 2nd for a rental?</div></div>
Those deals are hideous, as Hazard so bluntly spelled out.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hazard</b></div><div>Haha, I appreciate you asking me! I don't think playing in the Swiss league has anything to do with what money you earn in the NHL. He went over to the Swiss league because he was tired of playing Juniors and actually wanted to play with men and a higher level of competition. I think he'll be getting a crap tonne of endorsement deals when he's named captain... but as for money? I dont think he'll take McDavid money. He looks like he's alot more of a humble kid then Eichel/McDavid and will want to leave money on the table for Willy and Mitch to actually build a contender (Like Crosby did). That being said, I can't see him taking anything less then 10 million AAV. He's a way better player then Eichel and will want more. I think 10-11 is somewhere in the sweet spot</div></div>
That's somewhat, what I was thinking. 8x10.5?

Nothing to do with thread but a question
Matthews started his career in Swiss and got paid. Do you think that comes into account when giving him his contract? Do you think he'd take less then market value cause he's already got money, plus ALL the endorsements deals. Does he take Stamkos money? Toews money? Or does he still take McJesus money?

I get it and if someone wants to pay more and probably will then I can live without him. No point in mortgaging the future for a UFA. We made that mistake with Brouwer for which I hated the signing as soon as I heard it. With Tkachuk and Ferland needing new deals we can't afford to overpay for a 29 year old.

Fair enough, you’ve probably seen more of him in Montreal than I have. I don’t necessarily think he has high trade value in the end, I just like the little things he does, he’s a fairly raw player and a familiar face in that locker room. I don’t think he’s entitled, or thinks he’s anything more than a top 6/7th, he just likes being in the lineup and proving his point to stay there. Unless there’s a better option this FA season for his exact role, I would be glad to have him back.

They know about Blue chip (Lilijgren) and high tier but still need development (Bracco, Borgman) Thats why if leafs wanted to get this deal done, they would have to over pay. I would like if the leafs stay put, and they probably will (Maybe add a 3rd pairing dman like Gudbransson if anything) but like I said, curious to see what people thought of my proposal lol</div></div>
I think Sens do know about those prospects, they have the rookie tournament so they definitely know who they are. Especially Nielsen. If I remember correctly... Nielsen did incredible in that tournament. (FYI also memory... Dermott STUNK...) maybe it was the other way around... but either way, they can see he was better then what he was. I think they'd have interest in him.

I know how good the leafs are and the value of each indivual player, but I thought lets take a step outside the box and create a package OTT would want to think twice. It's definitely a great package, but very overpaid. I'd like Leafs to stay pat too.

People are going to yell and rave about Bracco and Lilegren and I definitely agree with them for sure... but Sparks is far and away the best goalie in the AHL right now... no it's not the NHL but the AHL is getting better and better every game cause as NHL players get better so does AHL teams. That is WAY overpayment imo. My offer would be:
Karlsson (full contract)
For
JVR
Carrick
Pickard
Nielsen
1st and 3rd
Done before the deadline so they can move the 1year guys for more. Like a JVR and Pickard. Carrick I believe is an RFA so he's still under control.
