Vegas is going to have to get creative to be cap compliant next season. That includes if they are prepared to let Marchessault and Stephenson walk. They may be counting on teams to outbid one another for Roy, but who wants to pay an average third line Center $4 million except Vegas? Good luck.

Tampa quickly declines. Nothing about that trade interests them at all.

Assuming we do even need to win now,
doesn’t it make more sense to find a decent 2way 3C who we aren’t shackled to until he’s 38
His age/contract is a total deal breaker,
no matter how good he is
And I don’t think he’s as good as you’re saying anyways
He’s been beat up & declining for a few years now

1- Philly is pretty unlikely to dump him like that
2- and ad you point out, he’s signed till he’s 38- he’s absolutely not a guy we should target- terrible idea, no matter what his Cap hit is

Forget Ehlers and Couturier, that contract is poison, even if they did eat a good chunk of it. Imagine paying $5 million a year to a guy who may top out at about 40 points, and that’s if he stays healthy over the term of the deal. He just hasn’t been the same player since his injuries, Philly either has to eat that contract or buy him out because he’s just not worth that money anymore. Besides, if you are bringing in Drury you don’t need Couturier.

Philly isn’t retaining that long, if that’s the deal, might as well sell savoie, with that much term ahead of him.

If the Sabres had any interest in moving Cozens, they wouldn’t have traded Mittelstadt. Moving Cozens would give the Sabres the worst center group in the league unless they signed Lindholm. We’d have Thompson, no 2C, Krebs at 3C (who I don’t like even as a 4C) and no 4C. Maybe Savoie and Ostlund could come in and play, but I view Savoie as a winger in the NHL and I certainly am not putting a rookie in as important of a role as 2C.

Hearing adams talk, sounds like he expects cozens role to grow, like he's expecting him to be an all situations center, that's gonna be good at multiple things. Not a guy you give up for marner.

3 years of 5.5 + 1 year of 4.45 does not make sense to take on Skinner. If Skinner would have 1-2 years left sure. They can send Anderson to the minors at the start of the year to save cap room.</div></div>
I disagree. Habs need scoring. Skinner still has some juice left and honestly getting 2 players off the roster opens up opportunities to let rookies make the team.

I no longer have any idea what youre talking about lol. So ill just simplify. I dont think Florida is a goon team that runs ppl over. They are tough and durable, they are also borderline hit artists and their coach whines alot. That's a very effective combination. I'd like the Sabres to be the same.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Justafan79</b></div><div>No I'd argue you actually did."Panthers are 13th in terms of average weight of each player." Clearly gives the impression they're not a heavy play team . There's a difference in being tough and Heavy you can be tough and mentally (which is what your comments infer), and not play a heavy game which Florida does and extremely well.</div></div>
And the sentence right after I said "m not saying they aren't tough/durable. They clearly are." Which implies i agree with bolded. You either chose to ignore that cause you have a personal problem with me (unlikely you know me personally) or you're displaying cognitive bias, assuming I've got it out for the panthers. Rest assured I both a) think the panthers are a great hockey team and in a good position to win and b) couldn't possibly care less about that org lol

Neither did I lol. I said the team above (the ACGM) would be playing physical in lieu of talent. The panthers were a small anecdote on a discussion about the Sabres.
