Helping FLA get internal cap down
:laugh :laugh How is Florida getting their internal cap down taking on a $8 million Jacob Trouba? First all Florida needs LD help not RD they're set there Florida doesn't need another expensive contract. Fat chance of Lundqvist waiving for Minnesota. None of these deals are remotely realistic.

You have the 3rd going the wrong way. 2 prospects that will probably never play for NYR for a solid stay at home Dman that loves to dish out hits.

I’m saying he’s better than he’s perceived, in no ways is he a top defensive defenseman, but he’s made significant strides from where he was when he built that reputation. He’s one of the better offensive defenseman in the league though.

I just don’t see Domi as that much of an upgrade over Strome.

Domi would bring some toughness and honestly next to Panarin could be very good. Strome i feel really is a 3c whose being carried by Panarin while Domi has the makings to be a proper 2nd line center for the rangers.
Still though cant see Montreal having interest in Deangelo.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gregory_papas</b></div><div>how is Zadorov on the pk? was he used more on the 2nd pair or 3rd pair for you guys? thanks</div></div>
For me he was ok on the PK, but I think the Avs PK scheme (asinine as heck and passive) influenced that a bit. He played up and down the line up, some games he was tasked with specifically going against guys like Kane and MacDavid and played great, then he would be on the 3rd pairing and couldn’t stop Colton Sissons from looking like Sidney Crosby, then get benched. Like I said he was definitely Bednar’s whipping boy.

AVS FANS- Price for this package
Zadorov and Jost probably EACH have a value around a 2nd + 3rd. So if you offer something worth the equivalent of 2 2nds and 2 3rds (or perhaps slightly less depending on the fit of the return) you're in business. If you instead wanted to include roster players then Buchevnich would be most interesting, but I'm guessing that he's not available.
I believe the plan with Zadorov all along has been to use him to get back into the 2nd round of the 2020 Draft, but as you don't have one of those it might be tough to swing a trade for him. Zadorov doesn't carry enough value to fetch one of your 1sts on his own. That said, if the draft gets held in June it'll be impossible for us to make that trade into the 2nd round, so we may have to settle for a prospect + 2021 3rd kind of deal in the offseason.
Speaking of which, you have a very deep collection of defensemen (mostly LHD's) in your prospect pool. You'd might be better off just bleeding some of them into your lineup that acquiring Zadorov, but perhaps one of them could be included in a trade for Zadorov and/or Jost if you wanted them?
Libor Hayek, LHD ------------- 2016, 2nd #37
Yegor Rykov, LHD ------------ 2016, 5th #132
K'Andre Miller, LHD ---------- 2018, 1st, #22
Nils Lundkvist, RHD ---------- 2018, 1st #28
Matthew Robertson LHD --- 2019 2nd #49
Zachary Jones, LHD ---------- 2019, 3rd #68
In terms of who we'd want, Avs are pretty set at LHD with Girard/Byram/Graves, but in 2023 Graves (assuming he signs a 3 year deal to take him to UFA) and Johnson will likely both need to be replaced. As such, ideally any prospect we acquire (either RHD or LHD) would be ready in around 3 years. So we're probably looking at your Dmen drafted 2018 and onwards. Would you be happy to include one of them with a 2020 3rd or 2021 2nd for Zadorov (if so, which one(s) is/are available, and which are not?)?
Alternatively I suppose you can send us one of your other prospects below but I suppose you'd rather trade a Dman given the depth you have there compared to the positions below.
Karl Henriksson, C ------------ 2019, 2nd, #58
Olof Lindbom, G --------------- 2018 2nd #38

Realistic 22 NYR Patience
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>Yeah pretty strongly disagree across the board. Robertson doesn't have anything to prove at the WHL level, his defensive game is polished, he's already at NHL size and speed, and his offensive production has been steady. Those are usually the reasons you leave a prospect down in juniors. But players with polish like Robertson usually go right to AHL after a year of juniors. Most recently Alexander Alexeyev, Cal Foote before him. Those are probably better comps of former WHL players.
Robertson most likely spends 20-21 adjusting to AHL play and maybe even get a cup of coffee. And he's up in 21-22.
Lindgren is fine. Solid 3rd pairing guy that can hit people. Like a young Gudas. Who also looks pretty poor offensively without Fox carrying him.
<a href="https://hockeyviz.com/fixedImg/replacements/1920/NYR/lindgry98/wrap" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://hockeyviz.com/fixedImg/replacements/1920/NYR/lindgry98/wrap</a>
But he's also a tier or 2 below guys like Miller and Robertson. If you're going to do the likely thing and move 1 of Deangelo or Trouba to the left side (most likely Trouba because he has a ton of experience there) then Lindgren would probably be the odd man out long term. Which is fine he has a ton of trade value.</div></div>
i see you're not familiar with how the canadian hockey league works. the contract they have with the nhl states a player can not leave after 1 season to the ahl. both the players you named were late birthdays. they still played the 2 seasons required by the canadian hockey league. a player can leave after one season only to go to the nhl. it's a stupid rule that should be changed, but it is what it is. the only way robertson can leave the whl is if he makes the rangers out of camp. if robertson makes the rangers out of camp but plays less than 8 games he has to be sent back to the canadian hockey league. whl and ohl have the same contract with the nhl.
for the record i would prefer robertson in the ahl over the whl. but he isn't eligible to play in the ahl until his whl season is over.

-first round pick: standard (though I think they'd want NYR first)
-Georgiev who could be their saving grace in net.
I think the two prospects are risky since they both haven't shown much success yet but they are former top 10 picks. its not a BAD deal, but I think SJS could do a little better</div></div>

I agree that he not in the same breath as Wilson and certainly not Tkachuk, but he's a better player than Reaves. Whenever Lemieux started on the 4th line he was usually playing on the 3rd line if/when the lines were shortened to three.
