<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>Ah yes, two ducks fans massively over rate their guys and it's automatically someone else who is wrong.
Marner is worth significantly more than either prospect alone. He's 25, just had 34 goals and 97 points in 72 games while being a major penalty killer on one of the leagues best pks.
Even if the ducks didnt want to keep marner for timeline reasons, they'd do that trade because they could easily flip him for way more than they paid which would match their rebuilding timeline.
Pretending otherwise is prospect over rating at it's best</div></div>
So they overrating their prospects, yet you and other TML don’t do the same with Robertson, Hiro, Topi, Arbz, etc.?
Again, you are looking at it from ONE perspective. You see 34 goals, 97 points, 25 years old. People outside Toronto see a very skilled, elite winger. They see robin to Mattman.
You look at McTavish and Zegras and see two players that don’t give Marner’s value currently. Others see two potential number 1 centers, or potentially one of the best 1-2 center punches in the NHL for the next 10 years.
You even said flip him if need be…. Why the hell would you take two top prospects (one already proven in the nhl) and trade for a super star, to turn around and try and get more prospects lol. It makes no sense. What are you flipping marner for that will get you more than MM and TZ? Also, retaining salary? Which teams are already ineligible due to not being able to take 5-10 million? A lot of questions that you don’t have answers for.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>It's almost like mitch marner is significantly more valuable than either prospect and only someone out of their mind on prospect over rating would declare otherwise. Just an entirety goofy line of thinking. There are like 3 prospects that could get a guy like marner straight up and none of them are ducks</div></div>
You already have multiple people telling you their thoughts, with two of them being Duck fans who know more about both players. Maybe it is you who is lost lol. Neither of them are discrediting that Marner is good, but you only look at it from one dimension.

Two members of our future core for Marner, and moving down a pick, why in the world do you think that's a fair trade?
You can keep the guy who never gets it done in elimination games.

You can’t be that serious man. You really think the Ducks would go Marner for Zegras or Marner for McTavish?

We won’t do either Zegras or McTavish for Marner 1 for 1 let alone both with a 2nd😂😂
How about you take that 2nd and we take Marner. Seems fair due to your logic but fella

Yeah, I firmly believe Hague doesn't sign for less than Whitecloud did, so 2.8 is probably correct.
I'd do this deal from our side, might even make it Vaakanainen to make it work since Hague would be taking that spot and Vaak is on a two year deal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles5513</b></div><div>Yeah that’s what everyone says about Stolaraz. He outplayed Varlamov last year! Gtfo lmao. Don’t be a homer. Stolaraz is a career backup.</div></div>
Their current "Starter" is a career backup who lost his job to the third string goalie last season, and is having hip surgery. Their depth chart is Thompson and Hutch, and this team thinks they can compete in the post season. Of the goalies on the list below, who is available, and of those who are available, who is willing to take Brossoit back the other way.
Of the available goalies, what does each one cost?
Islanders probably demand Thompson to get Varlamov.
Sharks want a 2nd, probably a 2023 that Vegas doesn't have, for Reimer and don't want Brossoit back.
Jones, Allen, Ned, and Samsonov were just not good last season.
Raanta is made out of glass
Andersson, Jarry, Swayman, Talbot, Quick, Knight, Vladar, and Hill aren't moving.
Smith and Holtby are not playing this season due to injury.
Their options for an improvement over Brossoit are Varlamov, Reimer, and Stolarz, it just comes down to a matter of cost, and getting Stolarz while offloading Brossoit gives Vegas 4 mil to try and get back some of the offensive firepower that they lost with Patches. Hell, I'll drop the third, Hague buys Stolarz, dumps Brossoit, and gets a 7th Damn.

Anaheim block buster
Two meh prospects, one at center that we have way to much of and one at right D, which would be valueable if he made it to the show, but it seems a bit of a long shot, a rental, and an injury prone Left D with two years term left and a big cap hit.
And you want one of our leading scorers and best faceoff guys, retained with term, and our power play qb, also retained. We are very far apart on this deal. This isn't a trade, it's a robbery.
Want that cap space and those two players with that retention? The conversation starts with Matthew Knies and Topie Niemela.

Because it's a total layup? One year to mentor Drysdale so he can stop drowning in minutes he isn't ready for, and the get the sun and moon for him at the deadline. Doesn't mean they're suddenly going to trade their unprotected 1st for a bunch of Habs garbage just because Habs fans want them to lmao

Ducks trade for Pacioretty. Thoughts?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ithical</b></div><div>I do see the point in adding a winger but what about when Eaves can finally play? Eaves won’t be enough back before the playoffs if at all. No cap in play offs and then Bieksa is off the books next season. But for a playoff run this season a D is the bigger need as Bieksa is just awful but if Pettersson keeps playing solid like he is they could be fine at D.

Ducks trade for Pacioretty. Thoughts?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>getzlafshair</b></div><div>Good points. I would argue the Ducks would like to add a scoring winger like Max. The Ducks also very rarely trade 1st round picks, which means we have a ton of up and coming players from that last few drafts. They could potentially afford to lose one for this year. Also, the Ducks still are battling for playoff position and could potentially miss so Bob Murray may not even pull the trigger on a deadline acquisition. Thank for the input :D</div></div>
