Next Year
lol. I was literally just building an ACGM with almost the same exact proposals. I don't think this is too much at all, though. Something like this coincides with what KD has stated in his exit interview about improving the team, while still maintaining some of the more important guidelines he has laid out for the rebuild over the last two years.
Aside from Pesce (which is far too much salary and term, imo) you have brought in some veteran players on short term deals, made the NHL club more competitive, created roster competition for the young guys who may or may not need more development time in the AHL (and are still waiver exempt and shouldn't just be handed roster spots), and brings in more/higher-quality draft capital. All while bringing in more guys who are not injury prone, and who, presumably, are only worried about themselves and their next contracts. They are all guys who can motivate a locker room, take orders and play within a system, and are great team first guys, aside from maybe Mikheyev.
I think as far as Mikheyev goes, though, I would rather just re-sign Anderson. We don't NEED the extra 2nd round pick and Anderson has been fantastic. And for Pesce, I think for $6.5 x 5, we can probably do better than him, or just do something shorter term. Not that he isn't serviceable, but he has shown signs of decline and 5 years is a long time, especially for that amount. That contract has some potential to look pretty bad pretty quickly.

I woiuld prefer the hawks only make one of these types of moves (I definitely dont hate the idea of picking up anders lee). I think what Jones and Foligno said during their exit interviews is important - we need to have vets that actually want to be here and buy into trying to rebuild the blackhawks. I think picking up the worst contracts from playoff teams is a generally not a great way to get a guy that cares about the project in Chicago. Theres plenty of good veteran presence that will be available in free agency. I'd rather us target guys a little more intentionally. We dont really need the extra picks anyway.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>I've been seeing a lot of Mikheyev dumps. They might be able to get someone else to take less. Kyle Davidson's track record is pretty clear that he'll probably do it, but a 2nd will need to be involved. Maybe like the Dickinson trade...we could send a prospect back like Entwistle (just as an example)?</div></div>
We are not Dumping Mikheyev.Probably the same people that thought we were gonna Dump Garland.IMHO.

Without an extension in place, I'm not interested in Marner at all. Whatever the cost is will be too much. I wouldn't make this deal to be honest.

Exactly, I am not advocating for this move whatsoever, but naturally with how the playoffs have gone for Toronto I think its worth exploring.

Realistic next year
Like the Chatfield and Toffoli signings. Make sense. Don't get why Hawks sign Joshua or give him $4m. Also not sure Nazar is ready to be the every game 2C - especially w/ Reichel as a linemate. That has disaster written all over it to me.

Reichel Contract
I mean he definitely hasn't earned the 2.1M that you have here. We have all the cap space so it doesn't really matter, but just going based on what he's proven to be worth i'd say 1 year 950k. Gives him the chance to proves he's a full time contributing NHL'er.

I've had Reichel pegged at 2x$2m, so we are in agreement. Shows Lukas Hawks still have confidence in him.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get his QO, at least in terms of what he earned this year. I’m all for the hawks laying the groundwork for an extension down the road by paying him over value right now. Not too much of course, but I think 2 X 2.1

I think what you have above is the most likely. Give him some piece of mind. That's life changing money for anyone normal. He's at the big club permanently too. I'm all for it.</div></div>

Utah Yetis Goin to the playoffs
I doubt CHI would be interested in Soderstrom or Vejmelka. Even if there is a chance that Soder develops more, into the RD he was drafted to be, he simply just doesn't fit the mold of what CHI is trying to build on the back end. But he can't even defend properly at the AHL level. Even if CHI were interested I don't think they would even consider paying a 2nd round pick for those two.

No Stammer
Stamkos has grown into a amazing leader. If you let him walk with no real option for replacement (Hedman on his final year?) this team loses more than just a 40goal scorer.
He's the only one scoring in the playoffs too.

Kuznetsov is a very talented player but with the off ice challenges he has experienced I don’t think I would want him anywhere near my young prospects/players, for that reason I think the Hawks decline.

Chicago Blackhawks signed Alex Vlasic (6 Years / $4,600,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>I guess the real question is, will they be competing while he's still on this contract? They kind of reset the rebuild counter to zero for Bedard by selling anything young that wasn't bolted down in DeBrincat and Dach. There's a couple pieces taken after the first round since then that are working out (case in point this contract) but there's a serious lack of depth in the pipeline in Chicago. It's going to be years before they're knocking on the door of the playoffs, even with Bedard.</div></div>
Vlasic was drafted before Kyle Davidson took over.

Chicago Blackhawks signed Alex Vlasic (6 Years / $4,600,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>You do realize that he played the #1LD role the entire season and ended with playing 25 min a game and had the highest DPS on the team including veterans like Seth Jones and Connor Murphy. They eye test proved it too. Went up against the hardest opponent's night in night out and he played well.
Let's rephrase this from the MTL perspective. How pissed off were you when Caufield got his contract? He had what...120 games under his belt vs 97. They're both 2019 draftees. Being a defensive Dman is effort based, where scoring can be hit or miss. $4.6M per when the cap is increasing the way it will be is amazing.</div></div>
Not to mention put up more points than Korchinski who is supposed to be the offensive Dman. That comparison is not apples to apples but Vlasic improved on the offensive side as well.
