why in gods name do you have devin shore on the first line? and why have the kids play 4th line minutes? they have to be in the top 9 or theyre better off in SD

Shore on the 2nd line? Terry in the middle? Del Zotto will certainly be in a healthy scratch most nights.

Seeing Shattenkirk to Ana on both Armchair & NHL indsiders. Bob Murray really likes to keep things quiet before he does something

ANAHEIM DUCKS FANS - PLEASE REPLY - ATTENTION DUCKS FANS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Anaheim's only real pressing need is at RD, both at the NHL and prospect level. Other than a trade of one or two of our mid-level forward prospects for Gudbranson and/or Ruhwedel, I don't see the Ducks and Penguins being good trade partners right now.
Guhle, Larsson and Mahura should all be NHL players, along with Steel, Jones, Terry and Sherwood. And on the horizon are Zegras, Groulx and Lundestrom.</div></div>
Only pressing issue is RD? We could use another depth RD, your right about that but we finished dead last in goals scored for 2018-2019...Biggest need is scoring

As a ducks fan I think you could ask for a lot more than Shore & a 2nd.
Shore is overrated - only 5g & 12p in 35 gp. Less than 40% in the face off circle. Doesnt have blazing speed or incredible shot. Personally I was furious when we gave away Cogliano for him, even though it was a cap dump. Shore brings nothing to the table while Cogliano was a one of the leaders in the locker room.
Im seeing a lot of Shattenkirk to the Ducks rumors however.

ANAHEIM DUCKS FANS - PLEASE REPLY - ATTENTION DUCKS FANS
No to the trade because the Ducks need scorers most & Rakell is one of the only options that is NHL ready now.
Larsson has high potential & is still developing. Very good skater & moves the puck well. He is a little bit of a risk in the defensive zone by losing coverage & panics with the puck deep in his own zone.
Mahura looks like he has higher ceiling than Larsson. Skates extremely well, offensively gifted and can play any situation. The Ducks also have a plethora of left handed D men ahead of him (Fowler, Lindholm, Larsson & Guehle). The Ducks also really like to develop prospects before sending them to the NHL (rarely do draftees make opening night roster), so I believe that Mahura will be in SD for the season (barring injuries).
Jones is a big kid that skates really well for his size. Didnt get to see much of his scoring touch last year but he creates chances & plays with high energy. Ducks are a little cautious because he is very similar to Nick Ritchie, who is another big LW. The only issue with Ritchie is he does not have good speed & Ducks fans know that he is notorious for taking bad penalties (offensive zone or late game penalties). Jones will likely get a roster spot unless Comtois jumps him, but GMBM will likely try to develop Comtois further in SD.
As for trading for any of the 3? I think the most likely to be traded is Larsson bc of the logjam at LD & Mahura is probably better, younger & signed for longer. I think you could get back a solid 2nd line scoring winger for Larsson.
Ducks should rid themselves of Shore & Ritchie to make room for both Jones & Comtois.

What about Jones? He will probably get the opportunity before Sherwood & Comtois (even though Comtois is better)

Opening night expectations
Love Comtois & hope he stays on the roster but I think GMBM will put him in SD & replace him with Max Jones.
Ritchie is not going to be on the top line - I wish we would trade Ritchie or Shore and let both Jones & Comtois play.

GMBM growing a pair
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheJoeMan</b></div><div>Because you need spares. Injuries happen (which we as Ducks fans know all too well) plus the spots reserved for regular scratches need to be filled by guys like these. Would you rather Comtois or Jones was getting scratched every night instead or Deslauriers? Plus they're really cheap. If they can't hack it with the Ducks they'll just get waived and sent to San Diego. I really see no issue acquiring these players.</div></div>
You already have a plethora of bottom six forwards (Shore, Rowney, Grant, Ritchie, Sprong, Sherwood) . I think GMBM is going to keep Comtois in SD next year, just like he did with Steele & Jones last year (praying that i am wrong). Injuries do happen but it seems that the ducks have solved that after having everyone miss the first half of last season. The way I see it, you could send Comtois to SD, have a full roster and still have Grant & Sherwood scratched. Are they planning on sending Deslauriers/Martinsen to SD? Not ideal players to have prospects learn from? I really just cannot find a good reason to bring these guys in unless half the forwards get hurt. But even GMBM planned by bringing in Potularski (AHL playoff MVP) & Blake Pietila (scored 25 goals in AHL), I would rather give them a shot then 2 players who scored a combined 5 goals last year.

GMBM growing a pair
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheJoeMan</b></div><div>Del Zotto, Deslauriers and Martinsen were all just acquired. Seems kind of pointless to look to move them before they've even played. They're also role players who are all just going to be spares anyway. And Shore and Ritchie are each on really cheap contracts and produce at decent rate for those prices (Ritchie especially). I see no burning need to move these players. There's room for them all most of the young guys to make the team. Eaves will probably never play hockey again.</div></div>
I agree with you on Ritchie but for the rest why If they are all going to be spares why sign them? Ducks have plenty of prospects and not enough roster spots as it is. Shore scored only 12 points in 35 games which is about 30 points in 82 games for $2.5MM (he doesnt play PP or PK & is below average in Faceoffs). Again why not play prospects for less than half the price?

If the ducks can solidify that top 4 defense and add a scorer they will be good.
Eaves is either going to be on IR or start the season in the AHL.</div></div>
I would love to have Comtois start the year on the team, but how do you make room for him?

Are The Ducks A Playoff Team
As a ducks fan, at best they finish is 3rd in division (unlikely) but maybe a wildcard?
I sadly think they will keep Mahura & Comtois in San Diego for another year (barring injuries).
Optimism: Hakanpaa will be a solid, shut-down D man | healthy Kase | Rakell cant have a worse season| prospects - Steel, Jones, Terry, Guehle could have a positive impact
Pessimistic bc GMBM keeps bringing in useless players: Ritchie, Shore, Martinsen, Deslauriers, Del Zotto, Grant

Love the idea of signing Carlo but ducks need a scorer. Comtois & Mahura will likely be in San Diego next year (sadly). Jones will be in there & I really want to see Hakanpaa. Hopefully the ducks rid themselves of Shore, Ritchie, Del Zotto, Deslauriers, & Martinsen. And does anyone know if Eaves is going to play next year?
