Possible OEL Destinations
Montreal could be a possibility as well if the deal were to be something like Chiarot + Byron + 2022 1st + Norlinder + 3rd for OEL + 3rd or something similar. Are would have to take cap back (but still get 2 useful players) and also get a 1st and a prospect with an equal high ceiling

Welcome to CapFriendly! Sometimes it's not too friendly. Don't be discouraged by criticism at the outset.
Christian Dvorak is a better player than Alex Kerfoot (which is why you're acquiring him), eighteen months younger, signed for twice as long, and is a first-line forward (which is why you're playing him there, where you'd never put Kerfoot). In short, this is a serious downgrade for Arizona, which is a team already thin on talent. Why would they do that? It wouldn't be for cap reasons because they're at the bottom of the cap and salary tables as is, losing $14.45 million in cap and $11 million in actual money at season's end. <a href="/users/desertdog111" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@desertdog111</a>

He’s definitely a good player! I don’t know all the details, but here is one Arizona fan:

Some New Ideas Some Old Ones
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>desertdog111</b></div><div>I think if Minnesota’s options are to lose Dumba for nothing in expansion or to deal him for a guy that instantly goes in between Kaprizov and Zucc on your top line (as your roster is currently constructed) they have to take option B. I’ve heard mixed feelings about going 4-4 on protection and losing Greenway/Foligno but you guys also have Mennel and Addison coming up on RD so you’re dealing from a position of strength</div></div>
Precisely the thinking of most of the Wild guys I've had similar discussions with on this subject. Not to be overlooked is one major side-effect of trading Dumba: now Minnesota goes 7-3-1 and gets to protect Greenway, Foligno and Hartman/Sturm.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>desertdog111</b></div><div>Thoughts on the Pitt one? I think if they can get those top 2 deals done it’s an A+ off-season in my mind. I like the looks of the NYR trade I just don’t think it’ll happen and maybe it’s better to hold onto Crouse after a down (and very unlucky) year anyway</div></div>
I don't know enough about Hayden, but it doesn't seem like enough in light of what Pittsburgh paid for Zucker (although admittedly that was another GM). That's why I specifically didn't comment on the trade in my earlier reply.

I thought not bad for Buffalo, although Kemper was good and bad in world championships. I take the trade.

The team above is basically last years team and they weren’t that good. The coyotes are gonna be active in the trade market. Hjalmarsson and Oesterle won’t be back either. I don’t see barrie as a target in FA. Gusev could be someone they’re interested in tho</div></div>
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback.

Marner to Arizona hear me out
Bad for ARI. Seems pointless to trade their most successful players of last year for one who completely failed in the playoffs. Plus it'd create a massive hole for ARI defense. Chychrun was a top goal scorer of all D-men league wide.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>desertdog111</b></div><div>That’s fair, but if OEL comes in and plays well then the prospects become valuable trade chips to go get a center. I understand the money part and I was wrestling with the idea of the coyotes retaining to make the contracts a wash, but I don’t think it works out fair enough due to Krieder’s age and play style. This is unlikely to happen anyhow since OEL likely won’t expand his list and will be on the Coyotes again, more just seeing what it would look like</div></div>
They could use a strong vet with term but I think OELs age and contract are just too much. Was always a big fan of his but think he’s lost a step to live up to that deal. Kreider deal is going to be rough for us in the future but he should still have his speed and net front presence to not be a liability. Seems like our organization has been targeting guys in the Trouba mold who are established players but in their mid 20s. I’d think they target a guy like Vince Dunn or a dman in Colorado with both having chances to lose one in expansion draft

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>desertdog111</b></div><div>It’s only 1 more year at $4.5m. Dreidger is a reasonable target but those other 2 will likely cost more than this package. Before Keumper was hurt in 2020 he was having a Vezina caliber year. If you can get that kind of goaltending with the lineup you already have then you’re a serious cup contender.
And someone already mentioned Bear was 5th on the team in minutes. If you want to ease Bouchard in give him the same amount of minutes you were giving Bear.</div></div>
fair. I think if edmonton makes a move like this they are immediately jumping on the seth jones sweepstakes to boldster their right side. with barrie and bear gone after this deal, a jones would be insane. then convince seattle to take a guy like archibald then oilers have
Nurse/Jones
Klefbom/Larsson
defensive dman FA/Bouchard
C.Jones/Russell
which is a damn good dcore with prospects in the pipeline. The biggest concern regarding kuemper is health. if he can stay healthy he is a good option to have until konovalov or skinner moveup the system

Bear was 5th in D toi for them at a very modest 17:58 with very little top pair deployment and was just kinda solid this season idk if he's that valuable ultimately
I like the deal overall mostly all told
Fair point about the big picture goalie situation

Rangers. Have a good crop of young d. Could use an experienced guy back there but not at that price and his contract. Either will trade for a cheaper player who’s younger or sign a vet in free agency

Gauthier showed some skill. Think Quinn really misused him. He barely played at all in the second half of the season. Buffalo's 3rd Is also a near 2nd so that value helps.

It's just a position we don't have really any depth on. The only way I could see a third for Jensen is if GMBM thinks TvR is able to fill in at the same level as Jensen. Even then, I'd still value Jensen more than some 18 year old third round pick.

Great targets - Dermott and Jensen both require more to get IMO, but they still are solid choices.
