All in - When healthy
1. Getzlaf is not needed, but even if he was, he would play wing with Suzuki centering his line
2. Don't give away Domi, Mete, or Poehling
3. Why Ghost when we have Lindholm
4. Weber would play top line minutes
5. ANA doesn't want Alzner
6. For that Ducks trade, don't give away a 1st, give away all extra picks we have
7. Reread steps 1-7 and figure out how to improve

4 trades idea for LD part 2
Looking quickly here...CHI won't eat Byron's $3.4M for another 3 seasons for a 2nd round pick. They could just let Gustafsson walk (or trade for picks only)

Not Canadian, but basically all he said was that he wanted people to recognize the ones that fought for their country by wearing a pin. A simple pin.
Are we really that sensitive that someone asking people to wear a pin and recognize their Country on a Holiday is grounds to be fired?

4 Trades idea for LD
For MTL the Calgary one is the best one without any big sacrifice.
But the best trade would be the Minny one... but instead of Chariot give Kulak instead as no team should trade at year one a UFA acquisition.

Given up too much for Sergachov. Juolevi is an AHL, keep Poehling. Wild have left wingers, so they might do the Poehling trade.

Nylander and Gardiner -- The Return and more
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>Montreal isn't going to give up assets for Gardiner when we can get him for free in FA in 3 months after the TD. Bergevin is smarter than that. Nylander is all hype and no skill. He has 7 points in 21 games, Why would Montreal pay high and take the chance that he rebounds. This trade seems like it is helping Toronto out while Montreal takes all of the risk. It's awful asset management.
If we trade for Maata, we will not be trading Lehkonen in a deal with him. He's part of the Finnish connection in Montreal. He is also our most versatile forward, he plays middle 6 minutes and plays PP and PK time and he is only 23.</div></div>
My goodness, all sorts of wrong with this post. I agree with the Gardiner position though, that's absolutely right and TO probably wants to keep him as their own rental. Habs have the cap and need for Gardiner so we should be in the running as much as anyone else for him in free agency next year.
The rest of your comment is ill-thought out though.
Do you remember when Domi scored only 9 goals last year and only like 5 with a goalie in nets? This is Nylander's Domi season of 17-18. The kid is ultra skilled and everyone in the entire league knows it. Don't let a bad start to the season confuse you. The chance he rebounds is the same chance Domi wasn't going to be a 9 goal player for the rest of his career. I think the stats this year speak for themselves now.
Lehkonen for Maatta almost makes perfect sense and if you think because he's finnish that he wouldn't be traded, that silly. He's being traded for another finn almost the same age, there are other finns on the team anyway so KK wouldn't be the only one and MOST importantly, Habs have a gluten of left shooting wingers on the team. BTW he plays almost no PP time. He's gotten the 10th most minutes amoung all forwards on the team and was mostly due to the abysmal PP we have that trying everyone was becoming an option. He is however an excellent PK'er but you have to give to get also. Maatta plays PP and PK and can be a top 4 here in Montreal.
Lehkonen is a good player, i'm not saying otherwise but Habs have a need for good LHD and have many wingers to offer. It only makes sense to move a bit of our strength for a position of need. Lehk's next contract will bring him in the 2.5-3 range so its not a big cap variance. (the trade mentioned above is an over payment IMO, if it were to happen, it would be 1 vs 1)

Nylander and Gardiner -- The Return and more
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SammyT_51</b></div><div>Juulsen, Domi for Nylander. Do you take it? (You should, Nylander with Kotkaniemi would be INSANE)</div></div>
I think I'd rather have Domi tbh. We've seen what Domi can do with little help and as a center to boot. I don't know what a 6.9M Nylander would be like without Matthews and the Leafs around him.
IMHO, Domi scores just as many points as Nylander would had they're careers been swapped. Domi is a 40-50 point player on a bad team. On a good team? 60+ points isn't a stretch in the slightest.
Not to mention he brings an element that not many other players can. He plays feisty and backs it up. Nylander is a really good player but Im happy with what Domi brings and wouldn't want to mess with it.

Petry >> Gardiner, Gardiner is UFA and on the ice, same offensive game but the Petry's defensive game is better.
Nylander, it's very hard to tell his value with the season, but at his prime Nylander < Suzuki, Top20 pick, 2nd round pick and #5-6 defense.
Counter-offers: Gardiner (with a new contract) and Nylander vs Petry, Rielly, 1st pick OR Suzuki

Might one one very, very very few Weber trades where he was traded to the Leafs. So it's five stars for me. But look at that cap, 1.3m left with three players to sign. Kings just can't afford any more cap by taking Weber.

They have Weber, Petry and Juulsen on right side. Each of them would play (Weber after injury ends, and you dont want to scratch Juulsen either). All they would want is C maybe.. but basically they are in for a long long rebuild..

Patch to TOR and Price to ...
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coolfreeze18</b></div><div>The idea was to trade Pacio for Marleau + more, because Pacio is better, younger and less expensive.
Very interesting trade idea for Weber.</div></div>
We might agree to disagree on Pacio and Marleau as I see Marleau doesn't have the offensive scoring as Pacio or JVR but plays the body, is an effective center, plays a complete 200 ft game and has soft hands in front of the net. After watching Marleau for a few games in San Jose especially the playoffs and being impressed I will concede that Pacio is better than Marleau in certain areas but as an overall player I feel that Marleau is better.
I have to be honest and admit that I haven't watched many regular season Hab's games in the last 3 years here on the East Coast of Canada since web streaming has allowed me access to the whole NHL schedule. I have caught almost all their playoff games though. The previous 42 years I was forced to watch Montreal games ad nauseam. :)
Gardiner is a top skater, very creative offensively (not sure if you have seen his amazing breakout passes that show an elite hockey IQ) and is 5 years younger than Weber. We have gotten burned by him like you used to with Subban but the offensive upside FAR out weighs the odd defensive gaff IMO. It would give Montreal that skill in a LHD that they are sorely lacking.
OTOH Weber is a strong, heavy shooting RHD that was never a great skater before and now has had serious leg injuries making him even slower. Interestingly, with the speed and skill on our defence we don't have anyone strong enough break up the cycle in our D zone nor do we have anyone with his shot. His lack of foot speed could be compensated for by a number of Leaf LHD. Retain just $2,357,143 while rebuilding and I feel both sides win.
Patches as a rental for a 1st pick and a top LW prospect gets Montreal cheaper and younger for a player that won't be coming back. Add a decent 3rd pair RHD like Carrick or Holl to sweeten the deal.

Taking big contracts for 1rst
In terms of value,I think it's pretty good. I think you could probably get a bit more actually. But very good idea! Also Callahan will be out to start the season so I would put him on LTIR so you have wiggle room and can maybe pay those bonuses.

I actually could see us getting Patches as a rental (there is no way we could re-sign him next summer) and I was wondering about Weber on a retained salary deal because he will most likely be DONE as an effective player once Montreal is ready to contend.
Getting 5 years younger with Gardiner, our top LW prospect not named Johnsson - Timashov and a 1st round pick adds even more youth to Montreal.
No desire to trade Marleau....at all.
EDIT:
I see you removed the Toronto trade....
