do you know what the cap floor is? Detroit is still 1.5 million away from reaching it, why not reach it with a player who long 5th-6th dman minutes

detroit has no need to reach the cap floor OR no need to add a young dman with potential (former 1st rounder) who might need a change of scenery to blossom into a capable nhl dman?

Urho and Zee will rotate the top pairing minutes. It’s a formula that can work. Urho has huge upside. Studs, Trent and Lauko can all fight for a spot on the top squad but I don’t see them making it over anyone here. They’ll come in here and there throughout the season, they’ll be black aces.

I’m sure he’ll be happy to be back at all. If anything he’ll appreciate taking less, useless, heavy minutes in the season so he’s fresh and capable for a more important role in the playoffs.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Couturier</b></div><div>If NJ is really willing to trade Palmieri, then they'll get a much better return.</div></div>
Heinen is a young, coachable, solid NHL player who has shown potential when playing in the top 6
Zboril has floundered since being drafted in the first round but might have a good turnaround in a fresh environment like NJ where he'll get more playing time, if not Urho can be swapped in
The two picks are good value for a team that is looking to rebuild from the ground up

Too many pieces for Toffoli rental.
Moore's not my cup-o-tea but D-man injury depth for playoffs is Job-1. Better to keep him for a Cup run than get futures which could be had at the draft or during 'summer school'.</div></div>
Kreider >>>>>>> Heinen
This is the year for the bruins to go all in. This is the moment.

I honestly prefer Kuhlman, he has a quicker jump in his step, plays with more grit and did more in the playoffs last year than Heinen. Heinen also has a little more of a reputation around the league as a solid third line guy, he's still young and would attract a team like NYR

They should still do it though, bring in some help on the right wing. This team looks better than one where you keep backes and pay 6 mil to keep him in the press box.

2019 Offseason
If you’re not gonna design Johansson (which the bruins should - just watch any episode of behind the B’s or re-watch the entire playoffs, the guy is loveable) then use the extra money to keep Krug, he was our best dman in the playoffs. Trade Miller instead to create cap space. Also you can give Chucky less, maybe 7.5 and that extra 500k goes to Carlo, who deserves more.

The rebuild continues
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Signing 5 FA to big contracts is not the way to "continue a rebuild." On the upside, the contracts you gave them are all realistic amounts that they would get, I think Skinner would get 8.5 minimum though. You neglect RFA signings though and you didn't trade them which is an L</div></div>
I meant the rebuild continues because no draft picks were traded. The sabres showed potential at the beginning of the season, using the cap space for these quality players with realistic contracts is very encouraging. As if the Atlantic wasn’t hard enough to begin with.

Mcavoy can be signed to a 4 year deal and still be an rfa because he’s a 2 year rfa. He didn’t play 11 regular season games in his first year, so that is true of him. Carlo on the other hand, is a different story. A 4 year deal brings him directly to ufa, as it would for most guys coming off their entry deal.</div></div>

Lowkey confused by what you guys are saying. Both mcavoy and Carlo will have contracts that enable them to become RFA’s again. Sign them to the big money deals at that point. No need to do it now.

Bruins Need To Go After Simmonds Now
It’ll take more to get Simmonds. The flyers know what he can bring to a playoff team. I’d take Simmonds over Stone TBH. The Bruins don’t need Stone if JDB can keep up this production. Simmonds and Coyle fit well with Cehlárik as a third line. Heinen stays with the perfection duo and Pasta with Krejs and JDB. That’s a quality top 9, and imo beats Tampa.
Bergie on Kucherov’s line, Krejci’s line Matches well against Stamkos, those two lines pretty much even off. Our new and physical third line has the up on Cirelli’s line and Merlot 2.0 takes the cake against Paquette’s line.
