Beauvillier is 20 years old and has 30 NHL goals, and we all so far accept that the Snow will trade him for Lehner (a GK many CF Sabre GM think will walk at the end of the season), a 6b/7a LHD, and a late fourth. I feel as though a defender or two will be on the move this off-season. McCabe would be the defender that could have the best return that I would be okay dealing (given his age and cap hit). Nothing against his game, BUF just has some other holes to fill.

NYI has some depth on the LW with Lee, Beauvillier, Ladd, Bellows, and Dal Colle so I saw them as a good potential trade partner.

alexdw4 what i would ask you to do is play your scenario out..... The Sabres trade for Grubs (at this time probably close to the most value he has ever had) and Ullmark plays a majority of the time and plays well..... then what.... you have reduced Grubs value as he played in so few games..... other teams know you are behind Ullmark..... what would you get for Grubs next off season if Ullmark is your GUY? Too much risk for my taste.

Thanks for the feedback! This is my first time making one of these so I'm just trying to feel out the perceived worth of some of these players. I never heard the Botterill quote about him being the #1, I only heard him say that he will be in Buffalo next season... but if he said that, it definitely changes things. If Ullmark is the #1, I feel as though the cost to keep Lehner would be too high. A capable veteran, such as Cam Ward, is something I wouldn't mind seeing at all.
