Scheifele to Philly
If the Jets are trading Scheif to philly provorov is 100% part of the deal. The main pieces the Jets will be trading Scheif for is either a top dman or another centreman to play behind PLD . In my mind Konecny is not needed in the deal. Provorov has also been rumoured to be wanting a fresh start somewhere else.

Although this trade will never happen, I do see a world where a team in need of a point per game centre like Scheifele overpays massively. If Chevy does his job patiently and effectively, he could get a jack eichel level return. Boston could potentially be a good fit bit that trade isn’t great for them

I'm not really against Schief on the wing, I'm against him being on the team. He pouted for the entire season and made no effort defensively.</div></div>
That thing with Scheif is fair, he seems very entitled, dating back to when he got mad at the Jets for sending him back to the icecaps. For Harkins, his chemistry sure looked good to me last game. We will see tonight, as they are on the same line again but I think it will go well. And just because Svech and Dubois played in junior it doenst mean that you just plug him in on the same line in the NHL. He also hasn’t been that effective win a bottom six role so we will see what happens.

If the Jets make this trade, a contract extension would have to be negotiated prior in my mind. I agree with the risk factor. And obviously Winnipeg isn’t the most attractive city so it depends on if he’s willing to come.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Benzino204</b></div><div>If Harkins is our top line right winger, we're in trouble.
Svechnikov was the RW on our best line of the year and he should be extended, not traded.
I
Demelo and Morrissey was a good pairing, all that needs to happen for the defense is to insert Samberg and Heinola in the lineup permanently and fire Charlie Huddy.
Schefiele on the wing won't solve much. He should be traded if there's a good deal out there. Only keep him if the offers are a joke.
That third line looks nice. I don't think Wheeler belongs in the top 2 lines anymore, and should be used to mentor Perfetti.</div></div>
I disagree with that take. First off, the centre position is so complex and different from the wing. Scheif has proved that in terms of the defensive side of the game, things can get overwhelming for him or he just doesn’t care. If he’s on the wing, not to say that he wouldnt have to play defense (because he would) but there is less responsibility. Stastny taking over centre could possibly fix some of these problems. I also don’t think it’s fair to say it changes nothing without giving it an actual shot to see how things go.
In terms of Harkins, I get it if u didn’t read my explanation because it is really long but I think Harkins is better suited on that line then Svech. Harkins provides lots more speed and puck retrieval than Svech. For Svech, the skill has always been there but the skating has always held him back.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>njlaforte</b></div><div>Was it a mistake or do you think that Harkins is a better fit on the top line than Perfetti?</div></div>
I think putting Perfetti on the third line with Wheeler and Lowry provides scoring touch through all three lines. Harkins on the first line and Perfetti with wheels and Lowry spreads scoring all throughout the lineup with similar structure of the habs last year. This year one of our problems has been bottom six scoring and the third line lacking an identity. I think this could possibly solve that issue. Now we have three scoring lines.

That take on Dillons return is not true at all. He can fetch at least one second and another draft pick. The market value for defencemen is very high right now.

If the Jets Standpat for one more year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rookescr96</b></div><div>I really don't think the Jets should/will be giving away Stanley and Harkins. I don't think they have the forward "depth" everyone talks about them having. In previous years Copp - Lowry - Appleton/Tanev provided a physical shutdown third line that was one of the best in the league. This year that third line has kind of dissipated. I agree Wheeler hasn't been great and probably deserves to be on the third line but in order to get the most out of his remaining salary I bet he continues in the top 6 and hope he regains some mojo he had a couple seasons ago.
And yes I could see them resigned statsny and he probably isn't the worst option to be on your second line but can you honestly say he would be a top six winger on a cup contending team? I think of Mini, St. Louis, Colorado, Vegas, Edmonton, Calgary all the powerhouse teams in the West Statsney wouldn't be in their top 6. Finally implementing Cole Perfetti in the top six makes sense but he's still unproven and needs to develop.
I don't think the back end has been great all year but I also think a lot of their problems have come from the forward depth running out</div></div>
I agree mostly with everything you are saying but once again, this is if they standpat with their core wnd don’t make any major changes. I think the defense needs to be addressed (once again) however, they won’t address it if they decide to give this core one more year. They also don’t have alt of cap space to make moves this upcoming off season, unless they were to make a big trade.

Jets need changes but they wont do it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Canoehead</b></div><div>Its interesting to see what an outsider who assesses NHL prospects for a living thinks and this interview with Scott Wheeler (The Athletic) last week was interesting: <div class="yt_out_cont"><div class="yt_cont"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/In8pWN7tLqI" frameborder="0"></iframe></div></div>
He says Perfetti, Lucius, Heinola, Chibrikov, Gustafsson, Rashevsky and Samberg are the top prospects and then there is a big drop off after that. Says that Kovacevic, Chisholm, Gawanke will just be organizational depth. Also he is not high at all on Vesalainen. He goes into some detail on the top guys, his disappointment with Vesalainen and speaks about a bunch of others briefly. For me that interview points out how Jets fans (including myself) are overvaluing the depth prospects and shouldn't be pencilling in Kovacevic or Gawanke higher than a 6/7 D-man.
I agree that it would be good to see some of the prospects up with the Jets for a spell to see what they can offer and at the very least a bit of a showcase in the event they can be included in an offseason deal.</div></div>
Although Scott Wheeler has obviously scouted these guys for years, I did watch that video a couple days ago and disagreed with his take on Kovacevic. Although not really there offensively, he was a great shut down d man that the Jets could use more of.

Bruins need a 2c
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>And Lysell isn't Ovechkin. I can see you're stuck on value again. Lysell fills a secondary need for the Jets, not a primary one and as such isn't a main piece. So what you think is fair value is irrelevant as it meets zero needs if the Jets trade Scheifele.
If the Jets trade Scheifele it will be for a primary need. Either a young top 6 center to replace Scheifele, or a young top 4 RHD as the main piece. Definitely not a winger.</div></div>
I doubt a top six centre would be coming back when they have perfetti and Lucius in the pipeline. The would likely be asking to fill a whole in the top six winger position. Top four defencemen like u said though would also be a likely piece

This is the thing with the Jets though. How many times have u heard “for development sakes.” They have so many players who are ready to play yet stilll stick them down in the minors to “develop” even though they are already NHL ready. This is happening right now with Gustafsson, Samberg, Heinola, and Kovacevic
