<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gmgb</b></div><div>You'd have to think Forsberg would take less to stay in NSH, than what you're giving Gaudreau here.
$3M is way too much to spend on a backup, and why would Husso sign with a team where's he's going to backup a workhorse starter like Saros? He'll likely chase a starter's job elsewhere. NSH has Ingram for the backup role next year anyway.
Kulak likely gets a better offer from a desperate team with a top four hole to fill. If Borowiecki doesn't come back, there's enough options in Milwaukee to fill that 3rd pair spot.</div></div>
Forsberg apparently wants out, and his frustration is well documented. Gaudreau is the only other LW (not over 30) who is close to Forsberg's caliber
Ingram is not that good, although yes Husso might go elsewhere
Kulak getting a better offer? Unlikely but possible. He is just a bottom pairing LD for Nashville and is interchangable. I just like him

This is a joke though. Hey habs fans, we allll know why every ACGM has petry being moved in it.
Also boston has never been linked to him (why would they be going after a 34 year old guy with four years at 6.25 for their 3RD?). Fetching a first round pick is just a fantasy. Getting rid of him by sending a first round pick off with him is realism.</div></div>
You underestimate the boys club mentality of NHL GM's

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JayTea</b></div><div>I think you're missing the point of Tampa trading for Seabrook. They took him as a favor to Chicago for them taking Tyler Johnson off their hands (along with a 2nd). Chicago is cleared of the cash they owe him and he doesn't really hurt Tampa since he'll be on LTIR and their owner clearly doesn't mind spending money since they have 2 Cups to show for their roster. Jake Evans isn't incentive to take Weber's salary off Montreal's hands while giving them a 1st and a solid prospect.</div></div>
Minnesota needs LTIR. They have nearly 13 million in buyout cap. LTIR might be a way to navigate that treachary

The LTIR will help them pay for Fiala, Greenway, and Khakonen. If they hadn't bought out Suter and Parise then it wouldn't be necessary

Mostly did that because Greenway is seen as a bust by some (mostly bruins and sens fans I know irl). He could definitely fetch a bigger return than the one I outlined

Can't, Athletic. It's an article from the offseason so things may have changed, this does not change the following facts:
1. There's a new Fiala trade rumor a day
2. He signed a one year deal in the hopes of getting a raise
3. Miller fits within the cap and is a solid replacement for Fiala

No to Edmonton deal from Minnesota. Devon shore is a nothing 4th liner who won't play on most teams. 4th round pick doesn't get greenway.</div></div>
This is a player dump just to get a depth roster spot filled, Rossi and Boldy are coming, Greenway could certainly fetch a higher return but I've seen people value him at Zach Senyshyn. I chose to meet a need and a middle value

Wouldn’t trying to get a younger guy similar to how they moved Granlund for Fiala?</div></div>
It's ideal but I wanted to go off of the irl rumors of Wild player acquisitions. Miller is also a first-line caliber player who could replace Zuccarelo if he falls off

Minor, depth-filling transactions that don't screw over the cap. They're also realistic and address depth needs. This is what is realistic and what wouldn't mind seeing at the deadline from Nashville

Offseason Flat Cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Randominoe</b></div><div>This is such a unique situation that the Panthers find themselves this offseason with the Yandle buyout. I think teams around the league should be licking their lips at the vulnerability of three RFAs: Tippett, Luostarainen, and Carlsson. I'm curious if any GMs have the gusto to throw in some offer sheets and try to pry one or more of them away for peanuts. Obviously, this is quelled if the players are willing to take a discounted AAV to remain in Florida, on a winning team nevertheless.
Tippett is a 2017 tenth overall pick who is already on a thirty-point pace in his first two NHL seasons, with presumably plenty of room left to grow. I would be willing to shell out an AAV of $2,055,364 and compensate the Panthers with a third-round selection to seize control of his rights.
Luostarainen was a second-round pick in 2017 and also on a thirty-point pace this season with the extra value of playing center. Another player I could see being worth an AAV of $2,055,364 for a rival team to
undercut the Panthers in their year of need. This one is riskier than Tippett for sure, but still, a worthwhile gamble to make the Panthers worse and your team better, in exchange for a third-round selection.
Carlsson is another high-risk, high-reward offer sheet candidate much like Luostarainen, already in his mid-twenties this mid-round pick from 2016 has put himself on the radar as a legitimate bottom-pairing NHL defenceman capable of moving the puck well in partnership with good offensive instincts. Still has work to do on the defensive side of his game, but teams should look to put the pressure on the Panthers by offering him the maximum AAV without compensation: $1,356,540.
Just my two cents, in all likelihood they will sign team-friendly bridge deals to keep this cup-contending team together next season, wait out the Yandle situation, and get their raises when the time comes.
Also, I don't think Juolevi holds as much value as you think, considering you acquired him in exchange for Noah Juulsen who had just passed through waivers around the deadline, and the Canucks must have shopped him to every team.
Montour is certainly a trade candidate in all this but I wonder if teams will realize the position Florida will find themselves in and hold them for ransom.</div></div>
The reason I think Florida will keep those guys is:
1. Bill Zito is a former player agent and knows how to get good deals
2. NHL is a boys club and RFA market is too taboo, but I'd like to see this play out and perhaps see Tippet on the Ducks or Kings
Also, Anahiem is likely losing either Lindholm or Manson this offseason so I feel like they have incentive to trade for him
Finally, any approximation of value is just a guess. You never know until a trade takes place

Edmonton also has young forwards like Bourgault and Holloway - saying that you're not going to use them isn't realistic. Speaking of realistic, more likely that Duncan Keith retires than goes to Arizona. If he retires, Edmonton gets a cap rebate in addition to his cap space.</div></div>
Sent Keith to Arizona because I needed his contract off the books. I agree that he'll likely retire, as for the prospects? That's for training camp to determine
