it's $3.5M for 4 years. Some teams would say yes. However, that 10 team no trade is a big deterrent. Also, whole reason Mtl traded Allen was to not have 3 goalies in Montembeault, Primeau, _________.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sens65</b></div><div>That's what Armchair GMs think but we also thought that for Matt Murray before he was traded to Toronto.</div></div>
Koorpisalo has 4 years remaining on his contract, Murray at that time had 2 (and had previous relationship with Dubas). It's not impossible he moves, but it is impossible he moves to the Habs, who have two goalies they like, and a third at BC who will be coming along in 2025-26.

Korpisalo and his contract would require A LOT more to move off of for any team. Obviously the Habs have no need for this (or for mid-round draft picks). Korpisalo is currently in the "unmoveable contract" territory with Jack Campbell...the sort of area where the cost of moving it makes it a non-starter for Ottawa. Best scenario for Ottawa is for him to reset and rebuild some value

Depends on your definition of availability, since anyone is technically available, but among the UFA class on seller teams, he’s certainly up there.

(CGY/VAN) - Lindholm for Kuzmenko, Brzustewicz, Jurmo, 2024 1st (VAN), 2024 4th (VAN)
Andrei Kuzmenko is being overpaid and wasn't fitting in with the team, so that's not a huge loss.
Hunter Brzustewicz is having a monster season in the OHL, so that's a loss.
The 1st will be early 20s at best, which is still something.
Joni Jurmo will very likely never sign an NHL contract. Not sure why they were even included.
4th round pick is usually nothing.
Two real assets for Elias Lindholm and $650,000 less this year and even more savings next year to give to Petey.
Fair trade.

I think VanCity purposely makes comments with the wrong take, its well known the Rangers need a center with Chytil out but yeah they should trade for a winger.. 🙄.. Save yourself the typing and don't bother replying to VanCity.

Guhle doesnt struggle offensively, he just plays more of a lock down role, facing every teams top line. If he was put in a position to get points, hed probably be around a 40 point pace on the season.

Except Guhle can produce offensively, is way better defensively than Holtz offensively, plays a more valuable position, can play on pp, has a record of actually being good before this season.
Caufield and Hischier are as much similar as Holtz and Guhle. Caufield is a better goal scorer, Hischier is better defensively.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Larrylnh</b></div><div>Jarnkrok, Brodie and Liljegren are not interesting for Montreal. I can understand that Brodie is there for cap reason but it doesn't seem fair. Remove the garbage and maybe add Knies.
Matheson value is a first and a 2nd. Minten can be consider as a first and Steeves as a 2nd.
Monahan is a first so you have the 2024 first round pick, that's ok.
Savard is a 2nd and a 3rd, you add all the garbage for him.
Plus, Toronto has a tax, Montreal won't help them if the trade is fair for both teams. My suggestion:
Matthew Knies
Alex Steeves
Minten Fraser
TJ Brodie
First round pick in 2024
4th round pick in 2024
For
Sean Monahan
Michael Matheson
David Savard(retained salary)
Pezzetta or a prospect could be add too</div></div>
Can you explain to me how Steeves is worth anything close to a 2nd round pick? he's 24 years old with a whopping 6 games played in the NHL.

Montreal have at least 5 better center prospects in the system already than minten, you're not offering anything of value to get a top pair defenseman and a top 3-4 shutdown defenseman and our top UFA trade chip when nothing coming back is a piece with garunteed success in the nhl

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>lol, yeah, i read your reasoning and it was full of stuff that wasnt true at all. You think Monahan is good defensively and he's an absolute liability in his own end and anyone who knows anything about the game knows that. The difference between him and Domi is that Domi can actually skate at an NHL level, unlike monahan who is literally one of the slowest players in the league.
Just because you are hilariously biased to players on your own team, which is heavily on display here, doesnt mean others are.
Hey, maybe you'll get luck and some dumb GM will be super dumb like they were with chariot, but that doesnt mean that your player is good, it means it was a bad trade. Monahan is a low end 3rd liner who cant defend and if you cant understand that then i dunno what to tell you</div></div>
I'm pretty realistic with my own team. You add in the fact of salary and limited rentals and that gets the value to a first. You're the type of guy who probably thinks all habs players suck lol. You're just biased and clearly are not looking at the reasons I mentioned for the reason he is getting a first min. Which btw is my argument. And what world do you live in by saying he is a liability in his oen end? You obviously don't watch habs games if thats your opinion. Monahan would be a perfect add to every contender out there. Especially with how low the cap hit would be.

Sorry buddy, but you're out of touch with the NHL and trade process during the dealine if you think he doesn't go for a first minimum. Averaging a 60pt season on a team that doesn't score, can play wing or center, one of the best faceoff guys, defensively responsable and dirt cheap when half retained. Plus you add in the fact that there isn't a ton of rentals available this year. Bidding war gets a 1st plus

He just gets buried by anything approaching good competition and he's so slow and immobile out there he makes JT look like Mackinnon.
At best, Monahan is an add for a contender who has the ability to run a sheltered 3rd scoring line or has a pair of good 2 way wingers with speed to pair him with, he doesnt really fit in toronto</div></div>
You guys clearly haven't watched many habs games lol. Monahan is good on so many levels. There is a reason they're getting a first plus for him

IM A CANUCKS FAN BUT THE HABS SAID NO TO THIS TRADE AT THE DRAFT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gmgb</b></div><div>The OP is just illustrating what MTL could have had instead of Reinbacher. NSH doesn't do this trade (Reinbacher wasn't their target, at the draft). MTL likely doesn't take Wood or Molendyk with those draft picks. I'd guess they'd go with the best RD available (Axel Sandin-Pellika) at 15OA, since they wouldn't have Reinbacher now. Molendyk was considered a bit of an off the board pick at 24OA, so they might not have made that pick either. Maybe someone like Quentin Musty or Calum Ritchie there instead?</div></div>
Reports suggest their target was Reinbacher (the best RD available). Flyers also tried to trade for the pick and draft Reinbacher.
Glad we didn’t make that move. Wasn't worth trading for a goalie.
