As for EDM, you guys are pretty screwed in regards to the cap with the Kassian and Koskinen being large culprits in said screwery. Why do you think NJD would allow Holland to dump cap like that for free? Larsson, RNH and Barrie are all UFA, where do you see Holland having any leverage in this situation?
There are gonna be many suitable goalies to target free agency (Ullmark, Driedger, Halak to name a few) and better goalies that are under contract to poach ahead of expansion draft (like Vanecek), there's no need to take on that Koskinen contract whatsoever.
Also, Boqvist could very well establish himself as the 3C in Jersey for the next season, he has that potential.
All in all, this is a terrible trade proposal, not gonna happen.</div></div>
Potential, I've heard that word for many, many years. In our case it gave us hope (Hall, Omark, Pajaarvi, Eberle) , but it then end it was just Hype (replace Omark with Yakupov).
What is the word in New Jersey, lol.

Noted and hence my crack at a V 2.0 (no Hawks transactions in that one).
Thanks for the feedback.

I am am quite certain that Larsson resigns in Edmonton (but who knows) and Bouchard is almost an untouchable next season. Bear is worth more than the players in this notional trade.

If the owner opens his wallet Hamilton will stay, but maybe you are right, he might see Barrie as a solution to the much more expensive Hamilton. FWIW, Bear is a much better all-around Dman than Barrie, he also has a ton of unrealized offensive potential.

They could, but Johnsson was very underwhelming and the slightly cheaper Kassian likely has a lot of appeal given the lack of physical players on the team. As well, Boqvist is not having the expected impact and the much bigger Maltsev is eating his lunch in the CF department.
Koskinen is better and has much more experience than previous back-ups in New Jersey. He does very well with a smaller workload, and would be an ideal fit there.

You should be aware that when you refer to the "Sabres" you are referring to the failed and no longer employed GM, not the current GM. So your point doesn't really apply.
Kahun was playing mostly against the toughest competition possible, so he should have been on the 3rd line only. He is a good player (deployment/context is important), but he sure ain't no Brett Murray.

You are correct, but Kahun has value and Buf has 2 3rds. Plus the player they are giving up has no foreseeable NHL future.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Aussie_Blackhawk</b></div><div>Interesting trade concept though prob not beneficial for us. Yam is another small winger</div></div>
He is, but he plays a lot bigger and has a non-stop motor.
If size is a concern, Kassian and Neal are both big wingers and before you write Neal off, his season was derailed due to Covid and was just starting to resemble himself during the last 2 weeks of the season. He has a consistent history (Calgary aside) of posting great numbers in his 1st season with a team.
I would use him on the 2nd PP unit and buy him out, if necessary in year 2. He still has some value as a scorer to a team, but there is no place for him in Edmonton anymore.
Kassian played like the physical beast he should be in game 3 and continued this play in game 4. He would be a good 3RW in Chi town, but definitely a clear upgrade on Connolly. He could be traded to a Met Div team, if it comes to it, due to the Tom Wilson factor.
Yamamoto has a boatload of value and could be traded for a good return if need be.

contender stanley cup three zero Made a couple of adjustments
I don't like to be negative on here, so I will not comment on your trades.
However, I do want to comment on the signings you've proposed.
1. Matt Cairns is not an NHL prospect, so he will not be signed.
2. Rasanen is not an NHL prospect, he is more of winger than a center and is a poor skater.
3. Desharnais has been excellent in Bakersfield and has signed a 2 year AHL contract, but he is not (yet) an NHL prospect and won't be signed. Same with Hambelin.
4. Can you please explain why you think Dylan Wells will be resigned?
5. Do you think Yamamoto get $2 million+ for scoring 8 goals playing mostly with with one or both of the best 2 players on the planet? Do you really think he gets more than JP?
6. Glendenning is amazing at face-offs, but below average everywhere else, he won't get more than $900 K
7. Ennis has played very little, he won't get much more than league minimum
8. Patrick Russell, unless he actually plays playoff games and has significant results, won't be re-signed.
9. Nuge won't make more than $6 Million in Edmonton. Unless he agrees to $5 million, he won't be back next season.
This lineup is not strong. Glendenning and Skinner won't make the Oilers a Stanley Cup contender next season. Skinner needs more AHL time.
Perhaps a 2019 version of Klef helps a lot, but outside of 97 & 29, this is still a pop gun offense.

<em>proceeds to trade Yamamoto for miniscule return</em></div></div>
Proceeds to trade Yamamoto and Kassian, who combined for 10 goals in 77 games this season. The same Kailer Yamamoto who has been stapled to the 2 best scorers in the world who are having excellent seasons this year. The same guy who has 20 goals in 103 NHL games.
Michael McLeod has 9 goals playing on New Jersey's 3rd & 4th line (his brother also happens to play in Edmonton) and is big and is fast and is a Right Shot Center.
Moving KY and ZK allows the signing of Zack Hyman who has 15 goals in 43 games this season and 57 goals in the last 3 seasons. As well as 4 other wingers who have scored more goals than Yamamoto has this season and none of whom have played 1 second with the 2 most dominant NHL scorers this season.
Or shall we wait 2 or 3 more years instead taking advantage of capspace and a recovering economy?

Hyman is Yamamoto on steroids, love his fight, but I want to see bigger bodies on this team, Yammer is probably 3 years away from being really effective and the Oilers need results today. If this is what it takes to get rid of Kassian (who might be more valued in the Metropolitan Division to answer Wilson, then maybe it only takes 500K retained).
Koskinen is probably more valued by the CBJ's Finnish GM than anywhere else and could be helpful to mentor Korpi and possibly Laine. Bear is awesome, but need to make room for Hamilton and Bouchard.
CBJ fans, don't fall in love with your prospects. Texier is just meh right now, you are getting a really good deal here, despite your comments.
UFA values here are low, because they are going to be. Maybe Hall signs with the B's or maybe he wants to finish what he started. B's are pretty old, Edm is just getting started and this comment applies to all the UFA's. They might be interested in winning a Cup and playing with the 2 best players in the world.
I will revisit this in mid-July and see exactly how far out I am (I am close). It is tiring reading the self-appointed know-it-all's trash others on this site. Your poop ain't rose scented y'all.

I've watched 20 Bakersfield games this season, Gildon is going to be a very good NHL defenseman very soon (he is better than Caleb Jones today, IMO), so there is that as well.

You are looking at it wrong. Every transaction has to be money-in = money-out and contracts in, contracts out. So the benefit to Buffalo is Kahun, who is an excellent 3LW/lower end 2 LW over the last 3 seasons + a second + Safin who has a wicked wrister, has the same size and skating as Tage Thompson, but will need at least 2 more seasons in the AHL.
This is better than what Palmieri got back. Plus Kassian is big, fast and physical and worst case, can be moved due to his perceived value by GM's.
The reality is that Hall won't net a return better than this. You will see soon enough.

Taylor Hall still gets around 6, I don’t know why he’d take such a paycut, if anything 5 mill for a year. But teams will pay 6.</div></div>
Carolina can't afford Hamilton, not many other teams can afford an $8 million player. Also, if Hamilton is offered this, why would he not take it, if he sees a few Stanley Cups coming to Edmonton? This is at the heart of all of these deals.
Danault is in the same class as Bergeron and O"Reilly. Cup Champs are built on Center, Defense and Goaltending strength. Danault puts this team up over the top.
Who is paying Hyman $5 million and why would he go there?
Getzlaf is a long shot and was a Flames fan growing up, but he is from Saskatchewan and if it gives him another shot at a Cup who knows?
