Patches
I think the trade makes more sense without Mete or Edmundson (after all, Montreal is building for the future and St.Louis is trying to bolster their current roster for a Cup run), but the general framework works.
Something based on Barbashev (or Edmundson if the Canadiens really felt building their current Defense was crucial), a 1st, and a 2nd makes realistic sense

Here we go
I don't think the value or the needs addressed in this trade work.
First, I don't see why a team with the 1st Overall pick would be terribly interested in Bouwmeester, a 34-year-old Top 4 Dman with a big contract.
Second, even if we assume they'd be interested in Bouwmeester, the value doesn't work. The Blues would be trading a Top 4 D-man, a potential 2nd-liner, a potential 3rd-liner, and a potential #5-dman; they'd receive the most hyped Defenseman prospect of the generation.
Even if all those prospects hit their potentials, a few decent roster players is not enough to acquire a potential superstar

My own Pacioretty trade
The value just isn't even. As a fancystats guy, I happen to like Mathieu Perreault more than most people (in 5v5 rate production and possession, he's arguably better than Pacioretty), but let's just go with the consensus view of both Players for the sake of argument.
The Jets give up a Top 6 Forward (who's having a career year), two of their top prospects, and a 1st. In return, they get a slumping 1st-liner with a year-and-a-half left on his deal.

Working with what we have
Orpik is almost $1M more expensive than Alzner, and by far the worse player. A 2nd and a 3rd round pick does not make up the difference in value between the two Defensemen. Even if we accept the idea that the Canadiens would trade Alzner a year after signing him to a 5-year contract, that trade is not realistic.
Maybe the Capitals could get someone to take on Orpik as a Cap dump, but there's almost no way they'd get a decent player like Alzner in return.

Trading Strome. Some feedback
Value aside, I don't think the Devils would have interest in Strome. The Devils play a system that relies on their Forwards being fast and able to provide defensive support (especially in transition); those are probably Strome's biggest weaknesses as a player.

Young but contending
I think you've been criticized unduly here.
The Sjkei contract compares favorably to long-term contracts given to other top young Dmen coming off their ELCs.
Maybe Miller and Hayes will get a little more in real life, but $4-4.4M is not too far off from the going rate for an RFA 2nd-liner.
Grabner will probably get closer to $4M, but that adjustment wouldn't really cause major change to your roster.
I like the idea that the Rangers should stand pat, let some veterans walk, and cultivate the prospects they've accumulated. That would mean giving up on winning a championship under Lundqvist's contract, but it's the right move (and lets' be honest, they probably did that already when they traded Derek Stepan). I don't think this front office would blow the team up, but they've also shown that they won't mortgage the future anymore; this is a realistic middle ground

To Expansion Draft and Beyond
Assuming that Pominville doesn't refuse to be moved to Vegas (he has an NMC with a modified NTC component), it would take more than Haula for them to eat his contract (especially since decent middle six Forwards like Haula are something Vegas will have a ton of). I think the idea of Pominville going to the Golden Knights could work really well (I'm working on my own Vegas Armchair GM with a variation of that included), but even if this was a trade and not an expansion draft agreement, the value would need to be a lot higher. Since this is an expansion draft deal (and you didn't ship out any other eligible players in separate deals), you're not just asking the Golden Knights to take on Pominville, you're asking them to pass up on really good players.
Even assuming the Leafs would be interested in Scandella, there's no way they'd give up Kapanen and Marincin for him and a couple 3rds. You could argue that Marincin is as good a Defenceman as Scandella at a fraction of the cost, and Kapanen is arguably the Leafs' top prospect outside of the NHL.

The Canucks get fleeced in that first trade. You can't give up a 1st pair Defenceman for two young-ish former top prospects (who have so far panned out into depth players), a 2nd, a 3rd, and a 6th

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hotNreadyWings</b></div><div>I have a hard time believing that the jets wouldn't take that trade as well</div></div>
First, I don't think the value is enough from the Jets' perspective; they'd be giving up a budding top pair RHD (which are very hard to come by) and a top prospect for two top 6-ers and a potential NHL defenseman
Second, even if the value was there, I don't see any way that the Jets would agree to this from a needs point of view. A team with a glut of skilled Forwards and Defensive issues would not trade a guy like Trouba without getting a quality NHL Defenseman in return, and I don't think they'd be particularly interested in Tatar or Nyquist either.

THE ONLY DAN GIRARDI TRADE STRAIT UP TRADE - Player vs Player
The Sabres would never agree to do this because:
1) Girardi's contract carries a higher Cap hit than Bogosian's
2) Both contracts have the same remaining length, but Girardi is 6 years older than Bogosian
3) (most important) Zach Bogosian can still play hockey, and Dan Girardi cannot

Cover bases and sell? - FEEDBACK
<em>Maybe</em> the Blackhawks would give up Pokka for Bailey, but Ryan Hartman has been more productive than Bailey at 5v5 this year (Hartman's 5v5 P/60 is 2.00, while Bailey's is 1.84). There's no way Chicago would trade Hartman for Bailey, let alone with Pokka as a kicker.
I can see Siedenberg going to Pittsburgh, but not for Guentzel. Desperate as the Penguins are for a decent roster Defenseman, they aren't going to give up a 22-year-old who's 1st in the AHL in P/Gm among guys with over 30 games. Also, it's untrue that the Pittsburgh "doesn't even sacrifice a roster player," in this trade, as Guentzel is not only in the NHL right now, but has put up 8 points in 13 games playing in the Penguins' top 6.
While the Blue Jackets will be looking for pieces to add for a Playoff run, they are probably not desperate to alter a Forwards corps that's been clicking from top to bottom this season. They wouldn't disrupt that to add Chimera, who'd probably be their #12 Forward, and they definitely wouldn't part with a 20-year-old former 1st-rounder for the opportunity.
When it was leaked that the Oilers were willing to part with Taylor Hall for something centered around Hamonic (which most everyone in the media agreed was an overpayment on Edmonton's part), it was because they had a glut of talented Forwards and no RHD. Now, the Oilers have fewer top-flight Forwards and a quality RHD; as such, they're not nearly desperate enough to give up a 21-year-old 1st line Forward and a 22-year-old top Defensive prospect for a top pair RHD.
Even if Minnesota believed that Strome would turn it around with them, they are a win-now team, who would not say goodbye to their 2nd-best natural winger for a reclamation project with 1.30 5v5 P/60 over the last two years, a new #6 Defenseman, and a 3rd.
Not to mention the fact that, through the expansion draft, you immediately lose Hartman or Pokka anyway.

Expansion Motivated Trades (Please Read Description)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>futurehofer</b></div><div><i>Not dumping Greenway for a rental. That's a horrible idea. Why trade one of our top prospects for a frequently injured bottom 6 center we'd have on the team for about 20 games?
Arizona wants way too much for Hanzal. They asked Montreal for McCarron, 1st, and a conditional pick. We should in no way try to match that.</i></div></div>
I think you're missing the main point of the trade. The Coyotes aren't asking all of that "for Hanzal" and the Wild "dumping Greenway for a rental"; getting Hanzal is secondary for Minnesota in this trade, with most of the value going towards getting Arizona to take on Pominville's contract. It would definitely be less expensive to do this trade before the draft, without Hanzal involved, but getting what most people would see as an upgrade on Pominville would be really helpful for a Cup contender like the Wild.

Trade Deadline
I gave it a 4 because the value is a lot more realistic than the vast majority of rosters that get posted here, but I still can't really see the Landeskog trade happening. Paying an arm and a leg for one of the world's most well-rounded players just you can stick him on the third line and Scott Hartnell/William Karlsson on the fourth seems like a waste. Also, I can't see the Blue Jackets taking on a contract like that right now unless it makes them the clear Cup favorites.

Assuming Fleury is Traded
I also assumed that Minnesota would figure something out with Jason Pommonville (if they chose to protect Coyle over Staal, Staal would have been taken).
If Burmistrov stays hot for the rest of the year, the Coyotes protect him instead of Richardsson, and Las Vegas takes Richardsson.
I know Soderberg was a bold pick, especially with Pickard available, but the Golden Knights are already set for young Goalies and Soderberg's a guy who scored 48, 44, and 51 points the first three years of his career (i.e. all the ones before he got stuck on the tire fire that is the 2016-17 Colorado Avalanche).
I think they would also Steve Mason. He's having a really bad year, but had previously been an above average starter his entire time in Philadelphia.

Good Fantasy team under cap w/o ELC's
Pretty good. IMO the best Cap compliant configuration would look like this:
Benn($5.25M) -------- Seguin ($5.75M) ------- Johansen ($4M)
Pacioretty($4.5M) --- Tavares ($5.5M) ------- Stone ($3.5M)
Palat($3.3M) ---------- Kuznetsov($3M) ------- Hudler ($2M)
Spooner($.95M) ----- Galchenyuk($2.8M) -- Zibanejad($2.6M)
Vlasic($4.25M) ------- Karlsson($6.5M)
Hedman($4M) ------- Josi($4M)
Dumoulin($.8M) ---- Ellis($2.5M)
Price($6.5M)
Enroth($.75M)
For a total Cap hit of $72,508,333 and $491,667 in Cap space

Kuch
As a Devils fan and a big believer in Blandisi: I don't think Tampa wouldn't accept that trade. It would take Blandisi fulfilling his top 6 potential <em>and</em> all of those picks becoming good roster players for that to be good value, and Tampa has no guarantee that will happen (whereas Kucherov has already blossomed into one of the NHL's best goal-scorers). The Lightning are also a win-now team, so they wouldn't be interested in trading a current star for picks and prospects.

I like this roster. I think it would've seemed a lot better at the start of Free Agency, though, when it would have made a big difference to unload the last year of Pavelec's contract.

The Jets can't protect 7 Forwards anyway; Myers and Trouba may not have NMCs right now, but there's no way Winnipeg leaves either of them unprotected in order to protect more Forwards.

Yeah, it's actually really good from Winnipeg's point of view. Contrary to what TrueNorth is saying, the Jets would be able to protect Edler to expansion (in fact, they currently stand to lose Dano, so this trade would actually put them in a better position for the draft).

The value seems more or less fair for the trades (which is much more than I can say for most of the Armchair GMs that get posted here), but I'm not sure where the incentive is coming from for any of those teams. The one trade where you listed your rationale was the Predators deal, but I think the Predators have faith that either Saros or Mazanec will be ready next season.
