I'm at the point now where I'm just going to post pictures for ridiculous Bruins mocks. It'll at least bring some entertainment to the thread.

I really like this! I think the signings are good and the trades are ok. I loved your reasoning for Bjork on 2nd line LW, I think it is very realistic. Unfortunately, he has no pro experience so it definitely makes me nervous. I would switch DeBrusk and Vatrano. This might change during the year but, for the start, Vatrano needs to be a starter. other than that, great work and with great cap space. Is it realistic though???

As a Habs fan, I'll say this: you guys have one hell of a defenseman in Charlie McAvoy and whom imo can compete for the Calder trophy next year. Pretty underrated young d man imo. Watched him in the playoffs against Ott, and he was superb

this is just bad. You gave Arizona's top 4 a B+, Vancouvers a B-, Detroit a B-, but somehow Boston's is worse? You got me dying here. You even gave Vegas a B-. You are heavily undervaluing Carlo and McAvoy. Your forward lines are all messed up as well. Based off of this Armchair-Gm, I came to the conclusion that....you know nothing about the bruins. I give you a F

And I am right about the Cap thing, so that's showing clearly who has the higher hockey IQ</div></div>
That's the one thing you've been right about, and that's because it wasn't as deep or complicated as I thought. It was simplistic and that's why you were able to comprehend it better. It was lower than where my thoughts lead me, but right about the height of yours. That totally makes you better, in your eyes.

Don't worry its not that difficult. Trade for someone and then 4-5 moves latter trade them for someone else. Really its a game of how many moves can you make. If you really want a challenge try to trade someone or reacquire a player that was traded by a previous GM

Going after Edler to play with McAvoy
Edler would be a good fit for McAvoy tho. He currently plays top pairing minutes with Troy Stecher in Vancouver, and they are somewhat similar: relatively smaller, puck moving, offensive and PP capable players with solid shots to go. So if it weren't for his big cap hit, he'd be a great fit. Vancouver could retain however...even as much as 50%. Just make that 2nd into a 1st I guess

Why, just why? Here is why both teams say no:
<strong>COL -</strong> Backes is 33yr old and by the time this team is competitive, Backes will be calling it a career. I'm a fan of Backes and think he gets a lot of flak from Bruins nation, but this guy makes zero sense for a rebuilding team like the Colorado Avalanche.
<strong>BOS -</strong> Boston would consider it, but Backes axes that deal quickly as he would have no interest in going to a rebuilding team. The guy wants to win a cup and he wont do it with the Av's.

This seems to be the route the bruins are taking and I have no problem with this at all. I like the idea of giving Vatrano a shot in the top 6 because i think its a do or die year for him. If he gets into any huge slumps or is just not producing, players like DeBrusk, Heinen, and even Agostino will take his spot right from him. Same might even go for Beleskey. Im not looking for him to put up big numbers but, I at least want to see a solid third line checking winger

Chara is still dangerous on PP with his slap shot. Carlo while having a good shot as well, doesn't quite command the respect of a PK like Chara does. Even at his age teams have to know where he is Z's minutes.because he still bring one of the hardest shots in the league.</div></div>
Ok but it has to be about minimizing Z's minutes so if he's playing 5x5 and PK, I would get him off the PP. Still plenty of weapons in this lineup to use so that you can rest Chara</div></div>
The 2nd PP unit see significantly less time than the 1st. In a perfect world we'd figure a way to upgrade the #3D to help take 5v5 minutes off of Chara.

I'll give you a check for trying :)
In reality though.....
- Pasta gets more than $3 million
- Gally's offer would be matched by MTL in a second
- Same rules for Gally apply to Hellebuyck
- Krejci has a full NMC and sure as hell wouldn't waive to go to COL
- You have a LW playing RW and Chara on the 3rd pairing and at the end of the day I think you managed to make this team even worse.

've done a number of teams a ways back and it didn't include Brodin, it was more realistic!!! Guess I'll have to flood this page with some more!!</div></div>

Good trades and good descriptions. I like that you take the other teams' needs into consideration as well! It seems like a lot of people don't really think about the other team anymore! Also, way to keep it simple, no crazy moves.

Ya Boston doesn't do that deal lol. Nothing against CK, but that's a boat load to give up for a guy whose a career 45pt player. When you breakdown to points per game, he's as productive as Ryan Spooner is and you want to add to 5 more pieces to Spooner to get Kreider....NO THANKS!!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangersandislesfan</b></div><div>Okay, okay, okay, i know, you disagree with me. They don't even need to trade Krejci though, even others are trying to trade Krejci.
And yes, i know about the top pairing defensemen, but not sure if they have any guys that are ready to be NHL top pairing defensemen.</div></div>
Jesus..........Do you think I care what others are trying to do? At the end of the day we sign off the site and go on with our lives. Anyone who tries to move Krejci, without actually factoring in that he probably vetoes 99% of the spots that could afford him, should be taken with less than a grain of salt. Just because Billy Joe Schmo on CapFriendly decides to trade Krejci doesn't mean it's realistic. He's not going anywhere. He loves Boston, he has plans to retire and move back to Czech once this contract is up. He has a family (getting bigger, I believe #2 is on the way) and has no interest in uprooting all that. Maybe things change, but I don't see it. So at this point any Krejci takes should be null and void if they involve trading him.
You draft and develop top defenseman. Bruins have plenty of defensemen to develop....McAvoy, Lauzon, Zboril, and Carlo; drafted and now developed. It may take a few seasons, but McAvoy has #1 defensemen written all over him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangersandislesfan</b></div><div>Well the Bruins have some good D prospects, but will take a while to become 1/2 d-men, like McAvoy and Zboril. Chara i think is middle-pairing at best.</div></div>
Most top pairing defenseman are drafted and developed; what the Bruins are doing. Very rarely are they acquired via trade/free agency. Chara has one more year left and then will either retire or re-up for another year. He is a middle pairing defenseman, you're right....But he's still playing at a high level, which allows Boston to continue to develop.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>Sure, i get told the Bruins defence isn't that bad, but when i get told that, it's by someone who just disagrees with me.</div>
No ****. I don't value your Bruins opinions very much. I've seen how you value certain players so that tells me you don't really have a lot of knowledge on the Bruins
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>I also get told that the Bruins need to fix their defence.</div>
Bruins could use an upgrade at defense, but I don't think it's worth giving up huge packages to get....Especially when there will be some pretty good UFA's coming up (potentially). I'm all for upgrading the defense, but not in the fashion you seem to go every time. Bruins won't be acquiring Hedman, Karlsson, Ekholm, etc. etc. like you keep having them. It's just ignorant on your part to comment on a team you know very little to nothing about.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>And i think they keep Pastrnak, and likely McAvoy too, but i think maybe put together a package of Zboril, DeBrusk, Acciari, and a 1st round pick, that might get you that number defenseman. And then the number 2 guy could be acquired with something like Forsbacka-karlsson, Senyshyn, and a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Or maybe they do Krejci and a few picks. Either way, they still keep McAvoy and Pastrnak.</div>
So......The Bruins have one of the deepest pools in the league, and one of the deepest pools they've had in a long time, and you want to absolute annihilate it? These are exactly the comments that make me take very little away from your posts on the Bruins.
Stop suggesting this crap. My god, go worry about the Isles and Rangers. You don't want to listen to fans who tell you what's really going on.

Seems like a lot to give up for a player in this year's draft that is probably going earlier than they would in a regular draft year, no?</div></div>
Yes and no. With the way Boston is trending we could make a better playoff run next year. So it's basically a late 1st + 2nd (Value of Spooner) to move back 11-12 spots in this years draft. The only reason I' d do it is for a kid like Michael Rasmussen, who is a massive centerman with a ton of upside.</div></div>
He would instantly become Boston's top center prospect, and you could argue their top forward prospect.... Vegas, who is going to want the fast track to build up their prospect pool drops 12 spots in a weaker draft, and gains an extra 1st next season. I don't think it's a bad move for either team, but personally I get leery trading future 1st rounders. You never know what can happen....A bad injury to Tuukka and you just pissed away a top 10 pick before you had a chance. I feel like dealing 1st round picks is better suited at the deadline when you have a rough idea of where you're at.
I wouldn't hate this deal, but I'd be nervous haha

I'm even questioning now why Vancouver is interested in Spooner when they have Markus Granlund who isn't exactly the same player as Spooner but they're pretty similar.
Best team fit to trade Spooner to is Nashville or VGK IMO. I've seen a few mocks with Smith or Wilson coming back the other way.</div></div>
Not really a fan of either contract; Wilson = 3.9M AAV and Smith = 4.25M AAV</div></div>
I'd rather someone like Austin Watson. Big and physically punishing forward. Can play all 3 forward positions and is sound in a 3 zones. He reminds me of a more physical Riley Nash
